I'm the manager of a Guest House ( Ti-se Guest House ) right next to Hyatt Regency . In recent times there has been a lot of criticism about hyatt not allowing local people to use their property during the earth quake . I'm here to let people know that this is TOTALLY NOT TRUE !! I've stayed with many... More

You'd think they'd want to keep my business after the damage sustained in the earthquake but they'd rather rip off customers. Good points, hotel is spacious, very few people, large welcoming lobby, big bedrooms, big bathrooms, tastefully decorated. Bad points, lots of crack filing, sanding & painting going in. Bottled water in room is not fresh but refilled and then... More

I would like to congratulate Mrs. Sinead O’Reilly-Henell, the GM of the Hayatt-Kathmandu and her entire winning team for the great job done during the recent Earthquake experience! The whole "crew" did an amazing work under very demanding conditions with ambition to safety, safety and safety! The emergency response plan worked to a good level and every resident has been... Having evacuated from my home just over the road from the Hyatt Regency Kathmandu after the first earthquakes, I stayed in the grounds of the hotel for five days, living under a tarpaulin. Whatever you read elsewhere, Ang Lama's rant, which has unfortunately been repeated by news channels, is a complete fabrication. He seems to have photographed guests who had... More

We were stranded in Kathmandu during the earthquake without luggage (at airport) and without a hotel booking. We were enormously impressed by the professionalism of the management and the heart warming efforts of all the personnel. Plenty of food for everyone, both for dinner and breakfast, handing out blankets and mattresses, good focus on safety (practicing a quake evacuation) and... More

I stayed at the Hyatt during the earthquake. I'd like to extend my thanks to Sinead O'Reilly and her entire Hyatt staff for providing food, water and shelter even to those who are not guests of Hyatt. They even risked their lives and went to my room to get bedding etc so I can be comfortable sleeping on the ground.... More

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Kathmandu from 02/12/2015 to 02/15/2015. The staff at the hotel provided excellent service. I was saddened to read that the management of this property refused to allow Kathmandu residents access to hotel grounds following the devastating earthquake. This is a 30+ acre property. How can this denial of access to a safe sleeping area... More

Having paid for more than 200 EUR per night handling of the situation after the earth quake was appalling. Below any level. First, it is understandable that in a crisis situation people are moved away from their rooms. BUT after the government issued a plea to go back to normal operations what did Hyatt do. Norhing. A structural engineer was... More

I stayed in the Hyatt Regency duirng the earthquake in April 2015 and just returned back home. I would like to use this platform here to say thank you to Sinead O’Reilly-Henell, the GM of the Hotel and to her entire team. It was amazing how smooth the entire team was organised and how well the information flow was working.... More

I am still in shock from the horrible tragedy. But thank god for the Hyatt and their incredibly generous staff. I was given safe shelter, food and water. I offered to pay, but payment was refused. I was told that this was the least the Hyatt could do. Thank you, thank you so much you made the impossible bearable.
