It was a nice idea and I had an open mind when I arrived but it just did not work. The location was on the edge of Kathmandu and next to a military base, sun salutations with guns shots in the back ground is just not tranquil! The noise from the city and surroundings meant you were disturbed day and... More

It was the first time for me and my sis to travel together abroad, and Nepal as a destination was definitely a good choice. We wanted to get a feel of the city but at the same time take such time as a respite from our stressful daily lives. HIYA provided just that. Its location, the very hospitable staff, the... More

This was my second stay at Him. Yoga Academy and I will go again and again. The gardens and setting is so beautiful and after the chaotic scene of the Kathmandu Valley stepping inside the gates here is like entering Nirvana! YOur eyes just drink in the beauty of the flowers, butterflies and bird song that fill the Zen gardens.... More

this was my first time in Kathmandu and when I was looking through our taxi's window at that dirty town and struggled to breath that incredibly polluted air I just wanted to come back to the airport and fly anywhere... BUT then we arrived to this academy, luckly.. suddenly we were in a beautiful garden, warmly welcomed by the owner... More

If you are looking to get away from the hustle of Kathmandu while deepening your understanding of yoga in Nepal then HIYA is your place. The grounds are a lush green garden with high-quality private tents scattered throughout. Yoga/meditation is offered 2x/day with set times for the meals which are scrumptious. The only drawback is access to Kathmandu itself, though... More

My friend and I stayed here twice in March. First when we arrived in Nepal and then for a few days more before we left. The accommodation was spotless and extremely comfortable - we stayed in the bungalow and the tents, both were lovely. The food is all vegetarian, with some choice, extremely nutritious and tasty. The yoga teacher is... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Centre. The yogi was amazing and so full of fun and happiness - rare, I find in a yogi! He wrote down all the exercises for me personally to take home. Nothing was too much trouble for whole staff. I stayed for 5 nights and chose the tented accomodation which was fully adequate... More

After a week in Kathmandu, my husband and I spent 2 days at HIYA before trekking. It was a perfect blend of my interests- whole foods, yoga/meditation, and body treatments. The grounds and facilities were very clean and comfortable. The food and treatments were AMAZING. Dr is passionate about Yoga/meditation so it can come across intense for some. For me,... More

This is an amazing place. Beautiful garden setting, simple yet tasty vegetarian food, really excellent yoga and meditation classes taught by Dr Suboth. Can be challenging for the western mind to be still and take in yoga as more than physical exercise. At its best, a personal pilgrimage. Another highlight for me was the opportunity to meet the other guests,... More

I was at the yoga facility for a 3 day relaxation before trekking to Base Camp. The grounds of the yoga facility were beautiful. I stayed in a tent and it was very comfortable. The food was fabulous as was the massage. All the staff were very friendly and nice EXCEPT the owner who was also the yoga / meditation... More
