We spent 3 nights at this guest house. It is centrally situated at the very heart of thamel. The place looks amazing and as you enter you really feel the unique of the place. The only set back are the poor quality of the rooms. The deluxe room is smell, the bed is hard and the tawls smell as if... More

First off, one point: Thamel is not a quiet area, it's a riotous bustle in the heart of Kathmandu and the main backpacker/bar/restaurant area, so while Ambassador Garden Home is a relatively calm refuge, it is only 20yards from chaos. Rooms at the back (overlooking the courtyard garden) are much quieter, but if you're a light sleeper the throb of... More

Found the staff to be extremely courteous, helpful and friendly. Cleanliness, the rooms and communal areas are kept to a very high standard (would cast shame on many London establishments ). The complimentary breakfasts are superb and the restaurant has a wide range of dishes to offer. What makes this hotel so special is the staff and location. If you've... More

Too noisy! The hotel isn't bad, with a pretty yard. The staff is good. But the noise at night seems to never stop. We stayed at super deluxe room (the most expensive option) and our windows seemed to be right above the nearby dance club. At other times, we could clearly hear our neighbours.

Nice hotel. We liked the wooden room decor and the cute reception area with historical artifacts. Rooms were clean and there was excellent plunger coffee and fresh juice provided with breakfast. Breakfast food was adequate. Staff were friendly and helpful, but we were quoted an exorbitant price for a driver for a day just around the immediate Kathmandu area so... More

This hotel is clean (I'm picky), comfortable and in a great location in Thamel. The owners will help with anything you need including taxis for good prices, directions and letting you stay in their garden the whole day until your flight. The breakfast that is included is a real meal including eggs, choice of meat, wheat toast with different toppings,... More

I've returned to this hotel for the last 4 years. Whilst I can find rooms the same standard cheaper else where I wouldn't be able to find friendlier staff. From the cleaners to the security to the owners everyone of them are lovely. Rooms are clean and adequate, the breakfast is fine. The winner here though, as a business visitor,... More

This hotel is awesome in everyday including checkin, checkout, breakfast, cleaniness, room, access to everything in Thamel, etc. A tip: Try to take a bigger room like deluxe/super deluxe otherwise you might feel bit claustrophobic in standard room. Only downside is the noise levels in the room. As guests walk and talk, it creates a irritating noise inside the rooms,... More

A friend and I stayed at The Ambassador Garden Hotel for a total of 4 nights. Throughout our whole stay we were treated spectacularly! The staff are more than willing to aid in any request that you have and it is situated peacefully in the centre of Thamel. We stayed in a room which was not facing the streets and... More

This hotel is nice, location is not good for group since no coach can take there. Even your car can not wait long time because of traffic. It is noisy till 11 pm around the hotel. Because there are many restaurants and bar has open music that makes noise till 11 pm
