4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

Have stayed 5 times from Nov 2014 for durations of 5 days to 17 days. Recent ones being two back to back stints 7-16 May and 26 May -12 June. Occupancy levels are usually high in this 18 room hotel. Due to earthquake there were few people this time. Whether full or empty, personalised service, willingness to provide information of... More

I come to Nepal every year and always stay at the Ambassador. Everything is good quality and everyone is very friendly and helpful; you'll not regret staying here. The hotel is undamaged following the earthquakes and Kathmandu is back to normal (but obviously not for those whose homes are damaged, though huge parts of the city are unaffected). The real... Having stayed in three different hotels in Nepal, I must admit that Ambassador Garden Home is the best so far. The first time you stepped into this hotel, you would be pleased with your choice. Check in was very friendly, the staff treated you like a family member coming from a long trip. I got a small room but it... More

We spent 3 nights at this guest house. It is centrally situated at the very heart of thamel. The place looks amazing and as you enter you really feel the unique of the place. The only set back are the poor quality of the rooms. The deluxe room is smell, the bed is hard and the tawls smell as if... More

First off, one point: Thamel is not a quiet area, it's a riotous bustle in the heart of Kathmandu and the main backpacker/bar/restaurant area, so while Ambassador Garden Home is a relatively calm refuge, it is only 20yards from chaos. Rooms at the back (overlooking the courtyard garden) are much quieter, but if you're a light sleeper the throb of... More

Found the staff to be extremely courteous, helpful and friendly. Cleanliness, the rooms and communal areas are kept to a very high standard (would cast shame on many London establishments ). The complimentary breakfasts are superb and the restaurant has a wide range of dishes to offer. What makes this hotel so special is the staff and location. If you've... More

Too noisy! The hotel isn't bad, with a pretty yard. The staff is good. But the noise at night seems to never stop. We stayed at super deluxe room (the most expensive option) and our windows seemed to be right above the nearby dance club. At other times, we could clearly hear our neighbours.

Nice hotel. We liked the wooden room decor and the cute reception area with historical artifacts. Rooms were clean and there was excellent plunger coffee and fresh juice provided with breakfast. Breakfast food was adequate. Staff were friendly and helpful, but we were quoted an exorbitant price for a driver for a day just around the immediate Kathmandu area so... More

This hotel is clean (I'm picky), comfortable and in a great location in Thamel. The owners will help with anything you need including taxis for good prices, directions and letting you stay in their garden the whole day until your flight. The breakfast that is included is a real meal including eggs, choice of meat, wheat toast with different toppings,... More
