Very friendly. Right in the center of Thamel. Access by cars could be an issue. But I liked it more than another larger hotel nearby. Stayed twice here and will go back again.

Pros: Location was right in the middle of Thamel, good breakfast, very friendly staff, free water everyday
Cons: Noisy at night due to nightclub noise, noisy in the day due to construction work being carried out nearby, not enough english channels, water pressure in shower, wifi did not work all the time

A friend has recommended this hotel to me. It has a great location in the heart of Thamel. We enjoyed tea in the lounge area, there was lots of hot water and staff were friendly and helpful. Once we got there. We did have trouble making a reservation and a confirmation didn't come through until the last minute. If you...

The Ambassador Garden Home is an island of civility in the heart of Thamel. The foyer and garden restaurant were peaceful and comfortable. The coffee was good and hot, and the included breakfasts were ok also. Two computers were available for internet access. The staff was welcoming and efficient. The rooms were large and clean, and the beds were comfortable....

I've been back to this hotel many times in the last 18months with my partner. It's good value for money, clean and consistent. It doesn't have the swimming pools or choice of restaurants like the Shanker or Radisson however you will not be doing much outdoor swimming in December and the location of Hotel means you have some of the...

Enjoyed our stay although it was one new year's eve night as our room had heater and hot showers. The hotel also provided hot water in the evening, which was a nice gesture, as well as complimentary juices, mineral water and beer (which we exchanged for more juices).
Since it was located right in the heart of Thamel, the noise...

Perfectly located - family of five with three under 10 years of age we stayed for five nights at this fantastic guest house. The rooms are immaculate and the lobby is a great place to unwind from the chaos of kathmandu. Fourth time to Kathmandu and first time staying at the Ambassador. Clearly our choice going forward. Families - ask...

Stayed from Dec 24 to 26. This is a basic hotel and maybe the best option in Thamel area, but only because there are not so many properties in that area. I don’t have any complaint about the staff (they try to help you within their limits) , that’s not the case regarding the building itself.
The place doesn’t have...

Spend 2 weeks in Nepal from 20 Sep 2010 and a good 5 days here. One of the best boutique hotels I've stayed in. The staff is amazing and helped us sort out everything from taxi, to airline confirmation to advice to things to do and see around.
Its in the heart of Thamel, making things easy.
