This is not supposed to be called a hotel. It can be compared with old patterned dharamshalas(Hotels) we get in India, Where guests get no treatment rather a small Kothari (room) to go to bed and sleep .The hotel is in good location and that's why able to fool the people saying this is a 4 star property. Specially the... More

This hotel doesn't have good staff especially in the kitchen. Bathrooms are too small. Food is served as though the guest are asking free. A lot of unrest and shouting in the restaurant. would never recommend anyone to stay here.

we stayed there last December with family and friends. the hotel is worn out and has no lift. the rooms are small with tiny toilets. the toilet is constructed 12" above floor level so you have to be very careful while using the toilet. there is great chance of falling down. the restaurant staff is horrible and not courteous at... If one wants to spend a lot of money to get 5 star service, this is not a place to go. However, if one is looking for a nice, decent hotel with good service, decent meal, and a location central to the city, I would certainly select this. There is no place in Bhutan without dogs on the street so... More

The hotel is centrally located, close to the archery competition, market and shopping. The issue with the dog barking is real so bring ear plugs. However, this is not the only hotel in Bhutan where we experienced incessant barking all night....seems that all of Bhutan is overrun with dogs. The staff is very friendly and provided yogurt and porridge at... More

This Hotel is great. Clean, great food, friendly staff...but the stray dogs have taken over this town. When my guide warned not to leave the hotel after 8:39-9 because of aggressive dogs, I thought he was being overly cautious. He wasn't. I went for a walk at 6:30 and immediately watched 2 dogs chase someone down the street. They are... More

Positives: Staff helpful and friendly. Good hot water. No dogs barking one of two nights. Negatives: Dogs barking non-stop one of two nights. Buffet selection very very poor for breakfast and dinner (never tried lunch). Poor meaning four sad chafing dishes - one night there was a beef option, a fish option, mashed potatoes and a vegetable option. For breakfast... More

Good place to stay in Thimphu. Walkable distances to market, immigration centre, handicrafts shops, food joints etc. Room was very neat with TV, room heater, tea kettle etc. Bathroom with hot water, 24 hours. Tariff also reasonable. You will get it for 3000-3500(rupees) range, for standard rooms. Bhutan and Indian currency got same valuation. We can manage with Indian rupee there. No... More

Real value for money and central location at the Jumolhari hotel. The food in the restaurant is also good. All in all a nice place at a very central location. The staff are really friendly and go out of their way to help you. Wi-fi is working well. Rooms are nice and clean.
