Other than the Uma in Paro, this is the most modern hotel we stayed in in Bhutan. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The Jumolhari bills itself as a "boutique hotel." That is something it should aspire to but it's not quite there yet. However, travelers to Bhutan need a flexible attitude. Bhutan is much, much cleaner than surrounding countries but the tourism infrastructure is still small and has some way to go before being up to international standards, especially for the prices... more

We visited Bhutan in September this year and witnessed the most amazing rituals and dances in the annual Thimphu festival. We stayed at the Jumolhari (all twenty two of us) Good rooms and friendly staffs with most facilities available. Most interestingly, they maintain a small library with books on Bhutan and Bhuddhism.
