We travelled in convoy 4 Land rover 4 x 4 vehicles from Dar es Salaam to Cape Town so we were used to some "interesting" stays along the way. We had stayed at other places in Zambia before but when Pioneer Camp was recommended by 2 travellers we decided to give it a try. It was a bit difficult to... More

Nice place to overnight with a cosy bar. The restaurant was good, but expensive. This spot is difficult to find, so make sure you have good directions. Even confused our garmin with tracks-4-Africa. The wi-fi doesn't like any apple devices for some or other reason. I would suggest getting that fixed. The accommodation is not very modern, but was clean... More

This place is close to the airport, but rather far from the Lusaka main bus station. It is outside of the city though, which is a great comfort and very peaceful. Make sure you have them arrange a ride from the airport, which is nice because you'll be on your way right away. The lodge is located off the main... More

Lusaka is basically not a place to spent more time than necessary. Pioneer Camp makes the exception. Only 30min. away from KK International airport and 18km from Arcades / Manda Hill Shopping Centers, it's a lovely place to spent an extra day after a safari to relax. The pool is clean, the chalets as well, the bathroom comes with a... More

We stayed here for one night en route from Croc Valley Camp (South Luangwa National Park) to Lusaka. The camp is impossible to find using a GPS. The last 2 km or so is `n gravel road in poor condition. The camp is close to the airport and also close to the road from Lusaka to Chipata. Accommodation was good... More

Stopped at Pioneer Lodge and Camp for a one night stop on route to South Luangwe National Park. The road in +- 5km's from the main road is shocking very corrugated and bumpy. Ablutions clean with hot and cold water. Good place to stop when trying to get from Livingstone to Chipata. Would stop here again before Eureka camp site... More

This is a wonderful spot, we stayed in a cabin but the camp site looks excellent too. Both have full access to the facilities including a well run bar and a great restaurant . They are famous for their T bone steaks and justly so. The lodge and camp are perfectly situated just outside Lusaka on the main road so... More

Stayed here for one night while travelling to South Luangwa, luckily a friend had been here before and was able to find it, approx 10 mins off of the main road via an unmade bumpy track. Upon arrival it was clear this was a nice place, reception and bar area were very inviting. We checked into our cottage which was... More

Pioneer lodge is a good choice if you want to be out of the busy city and busy road/airport. ABout half an hour drive from the airport, we spend one night waiting for transfer flight. They offered a chalet, very nice and comfortable. Pioneer has a good restaurant and bar. It was a bit difficult to find it, because it... More

We stayed at Pioneer while en-route to Lower Zambezi. It turned out to be a very enjoyable stay - we were in one of the cottages, which was really comfortable and nicely decorated. We had dinner in the restaurant and my husband had one of the infamous steaks. Although he needed the resident dogs to help him out as the... More
