This hotel was beautiful. Sparkling clean, fancy without being ornate or stuffy. The staff was truly nice and helpful - possibly more so than anywhere I've stayed in the world (e.g., I was allergic to the flowers just outside my room in the hall, and they had them removed for the duration of my stay). Couldn't agree more with the other reviewers. This is a first-class operation. The rooms are comfortable; the staff is attentive, helpful and reliable in handling phone messages and requests. The food and facilities are excellent. The contrast to other hotels in Kampala is dramatic. Unless you are a budget traveler, it would be a mistake to stay anywhere else. more

I loved the Serena in Kampala. It was wonderful. The service was great, the food wonderful and it even had a spa as well as lovely gardens. I arrived around 1am at the hotel and was checked-in in 5 minutes. Staff throughout my one-week stay were fantastic, genuine interested (unlike in some American hotels) in you and really wanted to help you to make your stay perfect.
