We stayed in Kampala 5 nights before our safari and chose The Lodge based on its location in Lubowa. The hotel is nice with friendly staff. You can take walks/jogs near the hotel with views of Lake Victoria. Breakfasts were good (although we would have preferred fresh coffee instead of instant) and our room was very spacious. Staff were welcoming... More

We visit africa 2-4 times a year. once atleast in Uganda among the countries we visit. As soon as you walk in to this guest house, everyone makes you feel special. Alex's little touches has made the guest house super. The front desk staff remembers you and could not be nicer. They really care about your day. The chef knows... More

Good food, hospitable folks and above all very clean. I will recommend them to my friends who intend to visit Uganda in June 2014.It is a secluded hotel and very quiet. I asked for the local food dishes which they happily provided. I ate a tasteless plantain which I was told it was "the matooke".

Alex makes a great omelet for breakfast, the rooms are clean and the walled garden is in huge pleasant contrast to the surrounding area. A house made into several en-suite rooms makes for unusual room layouts but comfortable and affordable. Staff are helpful and friendly. This location was arranged by our excellent Uganda based tour company, Brovad Tours as a... More

We stayed at The Lodge as part of a large group (4 rooms) for a family event. The facilities were decent, nothing special (slow food service and very limited menu, wifi only worked in the lobby, none of the TVs worked). The service during our stay was also OK, nothing special. What ruined our experience completely was the management of... More

I went to the lodge, kampala (17 Aug 2013 ) on the basis of the review of this site. And there was a shocker for us. The man at reception did not want to show us the room even after requesting for many times ( though should not have even requested , and just walked out ). Instead wanted us... More

The staff is amazing. They are extremely friendly and helpful. It's a small, quaint lodge that is peaceful, safe and clean. The breakfast each day is included in your stay and it delicious. Alex is the manager and is a great guy. Be sure and take time to talk with the staff and get to know them a bit. They... More

I stayed at The Lodge last weekend during a volunteer mission for 5 days. The rooms are great, a twin or double bed is lined with "brilliant" white sheets and the shower and toilet are modern and new to match. I'm usually a 5 start girl and was throughly impressed from start to finish. There is a common living room... More

My husband, son and I stayed at The Lodge for 4 weeks as we journeyed through an adoption. The staff is truly amazing, the place is cleaned top to bottom each day, and the food is excellent and safe to eat. We couldn't have been happier with the service and accomodations. Everyone there is willing to help over and above... More

Based on the many positive TripAdvisor ratings we chose this hotel, but were overall disappointed. Out of all hotels and hostels (some even shoestring!) during our 3 week Uganda trip, this was the most disappointing hotel: 1. rooms are relatively expensive compared to the rest of Uganda and even compared to other hotels in Entebbe (e.g. African roots guesthouse), 2....
