This place may be cheap, but it is not the best accommodation option in Kampala, particularly if you want to actually feel like you are in Uganda. It is good if you just want to escape for a day and be surrounded by tourists, but the internet never works and it is so far from anything that you are forced... More

We used Red Chilli Hideaway as our base in Kampala while we were exploring Uganda. We found the staff extremely helpful and courteous. The food was delicious and my teenage boys were more than happy with the choices on the menu, especially the pizzas. The bedrooms were clean Another plus for teenagers was the tv in the bar and the... More

This place is clean and well organised. The food is good western food if you fancy a change. The communal showers are clean and the water is hot. Wifi is available and pretty good. Computers to use and the pool and area is clean and nice. It is priced according to most backpacker dorms in the popular parts of Uganda.... More

I must say, this is one of the best backpackers I have encountered. We stayed here as part of an organised tour company, staying in a twin room one night and an ensuite room the second occasion. Both rooms were clean and equipped with mosquito nets (a must in this part of town - the mosquitos were a bit of... More

You can choose a mid range for 50% more a night that gives you far less. You will likely pay double to triple the price here, if you want a hotel with a swimming pool in Kampala or Entebbe. This is a combination back packers hostel and mid range tourist hotel. It's not a luxury resort BUT it has everything... More

We had a great time at red chilli. Place is clean, mosquitoe nets are included, great quality for the price, swimming pool included. Free shuttle bus to the centre multiple times a day, good service, breakfast is not included but plenty of food available for okay prices, if you want it cheaper there are a few stands outside the gate.... Basicly, very nice place. staff is amazing, food is really good (though mostly continental), really clean and amazing facilities, very good for camping too (has everything you're gonna need including a kitchen and a "manual laundry facility" [just made that one up]). two problems I've had with it is a. the amount of people. too much. noisy and loud and... The red chilli for a hostel is of a very good standard even has a swimming pool. I stayed in a room with en suite which was great otherwise you might have to walk to bathroom which could be quite away. Food was very reasonable and good and staff were very pleasant. Some people have been resident for quite a... More

Stayed three nights, two in a tent and one in a twin room. Tent area was away from the main building and relatively quiet, the outside bar closes at a reasonable time. Twin room was spacious and clean. Shared bathrooms had mosquitos which made taking a shower hazardous. Food was reasonable comfort food but nothing special.
