Stayed 1 night while on the road in Uganda. A huge and popular low-budget hang-out for people of all ages. You meet a lot of different and interesting people there! Good selection of food and drinks & beer. Rooms are basic with a ceiling fan, but it´s a budget establishment.. Wi-Fi, when it works, is only available in the main... More

Red Chilli Hideaway is a real hide away from the hustle and bustle of the city! My friends and I really enjoyed it. Their pizza is oh to die for! It can be quiet... Their pool is nice. Service is great. Quite clean and really well maintained. Very low budget it's amazing!

Friendly, clean, low-budget. We stayed here for a stopover on the way to Jinja. Not really near much, but a big space to relax and hang out, either in the main building or by the pool. We had a double room (with spare single) with shared bathroom. Worked perfectly fine for us. We only sampled a bit of the restaurant... More

Red Chilli was our stopover from Jinja & we loved it. We were traveling in an Overland truck & found the facilities for such to be clean & more than enough. We also opted to upgrade from camping & took 2 dorm rooms that took 12 people. The dorms were clean, mosquito nets available, spacious enough for us & our... More

Dear Nairobi_ciku So glad your truck enjoyed our place! Most people comment on how great our hot showers are - sometimes however when the tanks are over used when a big group comes in, they can run a bit cold for a while. We do however have several other shower blocks the passengers could have used which we could have... More

Red Chilli gave us everything that we needed for the 4 nights we were in Uganda. Our room was excellent - ample wardrobe space, comfy double bed (and a spare single we didn't need), well kitted out (and clean) en-suite with hot water, a good mosquito net and a fan. Whilst in the hostel we felt safe and secure even... More

Its the unexpected open space that this place overlooks that blew me away. Located only about 20 minutes out of the hustle and bustle of Kampala city center, its a real getaway. I imagine the overnighters have a great sunrise over the lake view too from here. Other attractive amenities this place offers include a swimming pool (again surrounded by... More

I spent 2 (non-consecutive) nights at Red Chilli's during my 2 week trip to Eastern Africa last fall. I stayed at a lot of camp sites and this was, by far, my favorite. There is the opportunity to tent camp or to upgrade to dorm rooms/bunks for $3. The upgrade is definitely worth it. The bathrooms are clean with hot... More

Very prompt replying to emails and requests. Taxi pickup from airport was actually there (this didn't happen often in Africa). The place is secure, clean and quiet. Having the pool was great. The management and staff put on Christmas lunch which was a lovely touch for us solo travellers away from family and friends for Christmas.
