The Bintumani is home to a personal world class record for me. After living in PNG, Northern Australia, Fiji and some feral parts of Canada; I captured the largest cockroch I have ever seen inside a building in my bathroom. It was the size of a small mammal and lived for over 3 weeks under the glass I captured it... More

Overpriced in my opinion but then again, Freetown seems to be an expensive place. Facilities could definitely do with some updating, especially the bathrooms. The front desk staff were nice and very helpful. My room overlooked the bay with beautiful views of the sun rising and setting.

I should caveat this review as being in Sierra Leone and as such everything is relative to that point of view and it really is one of the few hotels that a visitor may consider although the new Raddisson Blu hotel no matter how bad has to be a better option. It is incredibly difficult to find any redeeming feature... More

Things were bad at Bintumani when I was there in early 2013. I was there again earlier this year and things seemed worse. The staff, except for the front desk were worse. Their human relation was very bad, especially the kitchen and cleaning staff. On two different occasions, I requested for soap and it took about 4 hours to receive... More

There really isn't anywhere decent to stay in Freetown, so the Bintumani doesn't have to try very hard to get a 3. Just having electricity (most of the time) and running water gives it an instant "3." The prices are high, but so is everything in Freetown. At least the rooms are somewhat decent, not very noisy, and most things... More

Stayed here 2 nights and then 1 further night. I was bitterly disappointed with the experience. The service was abysmal - staff unfriendly and don't smile at all. Most of the time it appears to be an inconvenience when they have to serve you. They never have any change no matter what you pay for. We had to pay for... More

In writing this review I considered rating the Bintumani relative to the state of Freetown, but in the end if a hotel charges US rates I thought I should hold them to that standard. And by that standard this is a poor hotel. The linens were tattered and grey, the in room safe was missing its batteries, toiletries are not... More

The hotel is an average property. The rooms are small, but clean, and the air conditioning is excellent. Pool area is quite nice. Nothing fancy, could be a better maintained. We requested shampoo which was not in the room and had to finally go the reception to get it... after 45 min.

My 4th visit to SL and 4th different place to stay. Quite a lot of folk have been hard on the Bintumani, the porters were great and the room the best I've had in sL. Yes, the "nightfighters" were out most evenings, but a nod and hello was enough to see them off. Some of the staff were fab, others... More

Average Hotel by international standards, for Freetown one of the better hotels. Stayed here for a few days, rooms are ok and I had a good view from the room but for business traveller the internet did not work, water was a problem, breakfast is passable at best and dinner was a long wait. Not much better in town at... More
