I've stayed twice when passing by Freetown on duty travel. Overall, it's a reasonable choice and good value for money, particularly considering special rate for WHO staff. Rooms are spacious and have all the basics. There's Wi-Fi but connection really depends on your room. Try to avoid top floor, it has no wifi. Room 108, next to lobby is the... More

I stayed at the Sierra Lighthouse a few times and always decided to come back. The rooms are comfortable and silent, and clean. I like the fact that each room has an entry/office, a bathroom and the main bedroom. AC works 24 hours. Wi fi is not working very well all the time. Laundry is included in the price and... More

Visited the hotel in Freetown for stay. Unfortunately, it was full. However, observed that on the bank of River merging in Atlantic ocean, there was beutiful view from the balcony of the hotel. The place is having security ane peaceful, but just near the slum area

The rooms are nice and clean. There's a great view from the balcony in the room overlooking the water. Good food from the restaurant, which also has a beautiful view. Great value for money. Checking out was a little slow though and I had a few problems paying by credit card

Lighthouses, Men o' War, Aiberrdeen!! sounds an exotic combination?? Well, the sunsets are spectacular, the local fishing boats racing out to sea...sounds an idyll? Well, like so much in Sierra Leone, its side by side with a very unprivileged way of life; which you've got to learn to live with. Not that its really luxurious, just a 1970's Travelodge in... More

On a business trip, I was booked here for just on a week. The first night I had to share with a colleague because they had accidentally overbooked. The second night they had moved me to a better room, but the TV was not receiving signal. This was eventually fixed on the 5th day after a complete rewiring exercise so... More

The hotel is right on 'Man 'o war bay' with fishing boats back and forth and every room has a balcony so it's actually quite romantic! Service is generally good, although the management sometimes forget to look after the guests! Food is great! Fresh fish and Lebanese dishes.

Regrettably the previous three comments are much in line with the current situation in the Hotel. Staff do not seem to be able to concentrate on their duties, they forget what you ask, get things wrong, do not respond, and need reminding - leading to a very poor service in relation to the room rate. The management are well aware... More

Via VSL booking we paid USD 180 per night in October 2013. In April 2013 it was 150. However the place is not even worth USD 80. They should be ashamed of themselves to ask these prices and offer such terrible services. Also the restaurant has low quality. Avoid this hotel!

Stayed many times in the last five years. Every time I come back to this hotel, I find that the prices go up, but the services become worse and worse. The internet seldom works, the staff is not very efficient, I saw a rat in my room...I don't understand how come they can charge 150 US dollars a night for... More
