This is by far one of the best hotels on the African continent. The Family run hotel makes you feel like home. The reception Mr. Jules was great. The architecture and rooms are unique, every room with splendid views of the sea.

I spent three nights here for a conference and was pleasantly surprised! Barring mainstream chain hotels, thus is the nicest place I have stayed in Dakar. Clean. Friendly helpful staff. Fresh food. Nice rooms. It's designed to give you the feel of being on a boat and it's right on the ocean! Get a sea view room downstairs and fall... More

We arrived after a brutal 16 hour drive from Banjul and would have stayed anywhere our driver dropped us off. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was cool when we walked in and had a lovely view of the ocean with the waves crashing below us. It was fastidiously clean. Our plane was to leave at... More

I stayed here a whole week with colleagues while on a business trip. Although the rooms are old and need some refurbishing- they are comfortable, well lit and spacious. My room was on the upper level and opened ONTO the ocean. Quite spectacular with the waves crashing onto the little balcony. The service is very good in the hotel and... More

Stayed at the Lagon II for 4 nights. The overall experience was positive. Room was large and had a nice view over the sea. Sound of waves below was very relaxing, if you like that sort of thing. The hotel has a boat theme, so the doors have rounded corners and are raised from the ground. The place was spotlessly... More

I stayed in this hotel twice in august 2013. Breakfast is ok, restaurant is good and food is also available at the bar. Internet wifi is free of charge. Only the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks in the night can be bothersome. Rooms are very spacious. Location is very good, close to the beaches.

We only stayed one night but would go back if visiting Dakar again. Our room was super, very large, and as with all the other rooms the sea came up right under the balcony. It was lovely to hear the sea crashing on the rocks beneath at night and during the day you could see lots of little crabs clambering... More

At first, you are welcomed by a horrible smell when entering the hotel. The staff was polite and welcoming enough, however we were put in a room stinking of cigarette. We obviously asked to chqnge rooms; the view was great but the room's furniture was old and the room was overall dirty. We paid 150 pounds a night for a... More

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days for a meeting. Very good location and easy access to the city. The rooms are designed as if in a ship and each room has an ocean view with a small balcony. The only negative was that there were lots of mosquitoes in the room with no hook to hang a mosquitoes... More

The staff is very welcoming and helpful. If your are lucky, you will have your room in the building facing the Gorée Isle. Rooms are quite comfortable with all the modern facilities. TV might be better. About the restaurant, yes it is very good but definitely too creamy. Even if the hotel is tagged with 4-star, do not expect a... More
