I stayed here recently while on business. I have stayed in Ethiopia before so was expecting similar accomodations but room was slightly better than expecting. Hotel has a ocean front location 3km from airport, about 7km from main market although smaller shops are a few steps away. Very clean rooms with decent bathroom and tiled floors. Basic armoire and safe... More

La Madrague has its pros and cons; I choose it regularly as my choice when on business in Dakar. PROS: Location - Ngor is a great location first for the beach, which can be crowded and certainly not the cleanest beach, but still worth a swim or a boat ride to Ngor Island. Plus the sound of the waves and... More

Just spent 4 days here and have been really pleased with my stay and will be back when iam in Dakar. Staff at reception were super helpful at check in and my other requests like negotiate for taxis, the best tailoring etc.it is an oasis of clean and well kept grounds in the rather shabby surroundings as is much of... This hotel is right on a very popular and crowded beach in Ngor which might be a slight disadvantage. Small swimming pool well occupied by local non-residents (overspill from overcrowded sea?). Free shuttle to airport about five minutes away. Local taxis willing to bargain over their first estimate of what you are willing to pay and will wait at your... More

Having frequented La Madrague for more than 5 years, I can only say that the experience has been consistent - the team is an "equipe qui gagne", extremely professional, humble, bend over backwards to please and always smile....the rooms are fairly basic but correspond to the price, are well kept and very clean. Special thanks to Babacar, Mamadou, Pape, Ibrahim... More

I stayed at La Madrague twice in April. Located in Ngor, this small hotel is super friendly, rooms are large and well equipped (although more outlets would be a welcome addition), quiet and if you are facing the sea, it's just such a treat to fall asleep to the sound of the wave. They have a sea-water swimming pool that's... More

Prior to booking my stay at La Madrague, I read all the reviews, in which some of them were pretty scary, and frankly was a bit concerned when I booked the hotel, having booked due to its proximity to a conference I was attending. However, from my initial contact to my departure, the hotel staff, the room itself, the restaurant... More

We stayed at La madrague for 2 nights having arrived late in the evening. They arranged a taxi to meet us at the airport and organised the cost (which was very reasonable).we had a nice double room overlooking the beach and it was a real surprise to wake up in the morning to such a lovely view across to the... travelled with a friend all Senegal for humanitary reasons and arriving there we couldn t share the same room i had to book another hotel for him. all this was told in a very unfriendly way telling us that people here just come for sex. Stay away from this hotel there are better places nearby for much less money

Since I had a house in Dakar I didn't use La Madrague as a hotel but as a restaurant with a pool on the beach and for that it was perfect. The beach can be very dirty in Dakar so you can use the pool instead. The fish was delicious and the wait less than in typical Dakar. The colors... More
