I stayed a night here after having three unforgettably lousy hotel experiences on my way to and from World Cup this year. A short 20 minute drive from the airport, this clean, relatively new and functional hotel satisfies on all levels. The staff is efficient, friendly and service oriented. It felt like I had a personal butler. Very big, well... More

I would likely have given this hotel a 3 star ranking elsewhere but it is the best option in Kigali and pretty decent. We stayed here twice on our way to and from seeing the Gorillas. We arrived quite late the first night and the air conditioner was extremely loud and we were too tired to call someone. The second... More

We booked here for 2 nights (with an overnight trip in between). Our first night's stay was nothing special. The same as most large hotels. The staff were polite but there was nothing special about the food. We chose the have the buffet which included a Mongolian BBQ which was somewhat bland. We confirmed our booking as we checked out.... More

We were very, very impressed with Rwanda and its people. Having now visited the country, we have even greater respect and admiration for what it has accomplished in the last 20 years following the genocide. The Kigali Serena hotel would be best described as a solid 3 star hotel with 4 star aspirations. We had not expected anything different and... More

I stayed here for four nights in May 2014 on vacation and it must be one of the best hotels in Africa. The rooms are big and opulent, with every amenity provided. The room had a big balcony overlooking the swimming pool. Mosquito screens provided on the balcony doors. Lovely restaurant beside the pool and a great room service menu.... More

Clean and elegant hotel. Our room faced in toward the large pool which was lovely. The buffets were very good, but the a la carte food was lacking. Staff was excellent and accommodating. Not much entertainment here. Went over to Hotel des Mille Collines on Friday night to hear a hot local band which was very fun.

Another business trip to Kigali on the 30th July14 and instead of staying at the Des Collines Mille, my friend booked me into the SERENA HOTEL Wow! am i pleased he did. First world accommodation with excellent rooms and flat screen TV, with all the mod cons a weary traveler would want. This is heaven. Many areas and seating for... More

Stayed here for two separate nights. It was simply a "great hotel". Excellent rooms, very attentive staff and beautiful pool area. Breakfast was very good and I would recommend the chicken and pineapple salad from the bar. We would go back!

We stayed here for 4 nights during our stay in Rwanda. Staff were the best - always pleased to help. They organised a car/taxi for us for two different days to go out and about and we had a great time get dropped at the different places and the driver waited for us. Excellent Gym and pool. The buffet breakfast... More

This hotel is a stark contrast to the rest of Rwanda. It is very luxurious with exceptional security. The restaurant is good with buffet or a la carte and breakfast hearty. We stayed her eboth before and after our safari and is really the best place to stay in Kigali.
