This is not a trendy boutique hotel or a local lodge. It is a very professionally run and comfortable business class hotel. It's a slightly odd place to start a holiday in Rwanda, but after travelling for 24 hours to get there it was nice to have a an easy place to rest and recover. The breakfast bar is really... More

The hotel is like any top 4 star hotel or basic 5 star hotel in europe.Design is uninteresting and there is no ambience whatsoever. The food however was oustanding. The breakfast buffet was the best i have seen anywhere outside of the top asian hotels.Overall better than expected .

We were at the Serena for just one night but really appreciated the accommodation after a 16 hour flight. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Excellent room service with good food (and very sizable portions). The only complaint we had is that they could tighten up the service at the restaurant during breakfast. Other than that, the staff at the hotel... More

Kigali Serena is a top quality place to stay in Rwanda. It compares well to any fine hotel in major capital cities around the world. The restaurant is a real winner and quite reasonably priced, and the pool area is spacious and a great place to relax. If you eat at the Serena, choose the Milima Restaurant over the bland... More

We spent just one night here on our visit to Rwanda to trek with the gorillas. Our only disappointment was our stay was so short and we didn't get to avail ourselves of all the amenities. We had a huge three room suite with a lovely King sized bed with wonderful linens and a huge ensuite and living room. Staff... More

We used this hotel for lodging for a business delegation. The guest rooms are very nice, though I almost had to stay in another hotel on my first night because the guest who was supposed to be checking out that evening refused to leave. The staff eventually got the person to leave and I received my room but it took... More

I find that across the region, Serena Hotels don't disappoint. A friend and I stayed here while travelling to and from the Gorilla trekking park and we enjoyed the rooms and services. I had no complaints whatsoever. It's a large, city hotel with a lovely pool catering to a mix of (mostly) business travellers and tourists with a dollop of... More

Kigali has some challenges as an inviting city to visit. I found the location of the Kigali Serena Hotel one of the most appealing areas of the city. It is situated in the center hill and you can walk around the area safely. The hotel itself is quiet and peaceful. It needs a little upgrading, but certainly nice.

My husband and I stayed at the Kigali Serena for two separate nights in December, going to and from mountain gorilla trekking. We found the hotel to be clean and attractive and the service to be warm and professional. Both nights we were given rooms facing the pool area. The first night we stayed was a Friday and there was... More

I'm not one for big ex-pat hotels, but the Serena was just so nice - the staff (like everyone I've interacted with in Rwanda) was exceedingly courteous. My room was well appointed, with good wi-fi, separate soaking tub and shower, and a comfy bed. The downside was that the AC in my room didn't work very well, so I woke... More
