I traveled to Rwanda in April 2007 as part of a two week corporate event. I had the time of my life! The people of Rwanda are just wonderfully gracious and friendly. We ate, danced, ate, did the gorilla trek, ate and had a fantastic time. The Kigali Serena was a large part of a wonderful trip, everyone in the... more

The Kigali Serena is definitely the best hotel in town. Although pricy, rooms are spacious and most of them overlooking the nice pool area. Breakfast is abundant, and there is a wide range of continental and indian dishes available in the hotel restaurant. Worth mentioning is the superb gym and spa (jacuzzi, sauna) area, where attentive staff is always ready... more

Great hotel. Relaxed atmosphere, wonderful breakfast buffet, wonderful staff, and all you need in the room. Dinner offerings were a bit bland, but sufficient. more

The hotel is 'classic luxury style' could be situated anywhere. Almost no reference to the country it is situated in . Very slow reception desk, hardly speak any French. There are more interesting hotels in Kigali more

I paid over and beyond what the Serena Kigali is worth and too much more than other hotels in the area for the supposed comfort and security. I am wiling to pay so much more, to be safe and secure. On my first day there the cleaner stole my engagement ring worth some $30,000.00. My mistake was telling the management/security... more

Very good experience. Only one night stay during business trip; hence limited comments: Seems it is the best hotel in Kigali indeed.Excellent service, incl welcome drink during late check-in and very late dinner (last guests, well after midnight and yet the staff was very attentive), the food was standard; nothing fancy, but some nice local touches (e.g. fantastic fruit). Room... more

This supposed to be one of the top hotels in Kigali. You can do much better elsewhere for 1/2 the price. Reception was "too busy" to exchange currency. Staff woke up all 4 members of our group to "check the mini-bars, at 8:30 in the morning. Everything, from laundry to food, was grossly over-priced. A request for one late departure... more

I stayed in the hotel on my business trip, they provide a complementary wireless internet connection which is very good for the business traveller aswell as on holiday. You can be away from home still be in touch with family at no cost, provided you carry a laptop! The Kigali Serena Hotel has two conference rooms and 3 other meeting... more

If you are a business traveller this hotel is for you. If you are on holiday and want a place to relax and friendly service its not. Currently the hotel is being extended - so the pool and gardens offered on the webite are no more - we were very disappointed after a long drive to the hotel to find... more

The Serena hotel is owned by the Aga Khan and there are many chains throughout East Africa. The rooms are very expensive and it is the only five star hotel in Kigali and rest assured that when the power goes out Serena has a generator. Email is very good and pretty stable at this hotel. Food is a hit or... more
