We were in Kigali for an international congress and we had the oportunity to visit many hotels during our stay. The atmosphere of "Chez Lando" worths the detour! This is not one of the "european" hotel you will find in Kigali but a real typical one. The staff is welcoming and the restaurant is amazing. The service is generally slow... More

This hotel over promises and under delivers. Here are the issues we had while spending a night here (thankfully was only one night): - We emailed details for an airport transfer -- and they wrote back confirming 8hrs beforehand - We arrived at 10pm (on schedule) and had to call the hotel to ask where our transfer was. The person... More

When we first arrived and saw our room we were a little concerned but it was sufficient for our needs. Bearing in mind the cost (around US$60) this was okay. Having no fan (did not bother us as it was not too hot) could have been a problem. The bathroom was aged and need a revamp. However it was clean... More

We stayed at the Chez Lando hotel in Kigali before and after our gorilla tour in Volcano National Park. Our room cost $70 per night and included free airport transportation and free breakfast buffet. We styaed in the older part of the hotel which was not destroyed during the genocide and it was adequate for the price. The newer part... More

I stayed there 2 weeks in Oct 2012. On the positive side, I can say the ambience is nice and restaurant food is good and reasonably priced (although, they are extremely slow in serving food). However, I should say that the hotel service was poor. They made several mistakes in our reservation. Also, it is overpriced. $100 for a single... More

After reading reviews, decided this was best for our one night in Kigali prior to a week in the Rwandan countryside. Free wifi- excellent! Best thing: website said price of room was $60 so we booked and were confirmed that this was the price, day before arrival we were emailed that the price was now $100. on arrival we queries... More

Chez Lando is landmark in Kigali, no doubt about that. But, few days ago i was there, it was packed as they had some conference. They had only $100 rooms available (normally is $60) and i don't see any benefit of paying $100...few TV channels and no toiletries available, only one small soap. It is the fact that Kigali became... More

We endedup in Kigali after a whole day of gorilla trekking at Volcanoes National park. This was by far the worst hotel we had stayed in the entire two weeks in Africa. Stayed here for 5 days on a recent business trip. The hotel is conveniently located very close to the offices of my organisation, which is why it was chosen. The rooms are simple, but well appointed including hot water, a mini-bar and safe in the room. However they are somewhat outdated and could do with a renovation. There also seemed... More

We had one night here at each end of our trip in Rwanda. The rooms are OK, the bed wasn't very comfortable and the room was quite drab each time. We stayed here because it was so much cheaper than the other higher end options and you can tell it was a cheaper hotel. It was ok just for an... More
