We stayed in this hotel for just one night en route to Uganda after flying into Kigali Airport. Our family room was spacious, clean and well furnished with an African theme. The bathroom had a huge jacuzzi bath which unfortunately we didn't have time to use! The staff were friendly and accommodating, with Constance Joy (hope I've spelled that right!)... More

Saying it's luxury doesn't make it so! Unfriendly staff, rooms have wallpaper peeling off the wall, have tape coming off the ceiling, and they rip you off on the currency exchange. Restaurant service is very nice, but slow. AC is portable and doesn't work at all. Room was very hot. Could not open the window because the room was located... More

Group of four (one couple and a father and daughter) as part of safari package. Staff were very helpful and property well maintained. The restaurant (ate breakfast and dinner) had good food and service but was a tad slow (but we weren't in particular hurry so did not care). Only reason did not receive outstanding rating was we found the... More

A buddy and I stayed here after the 2014 Kigali Peace Marathon, and I have to say the rooms were great! The rooms were tastefully decorated in an African motif, and not to mention the rooms were huge!

A little bit off the beaten path, but otherwise quite perfect. Enormous room and a very large balcony with good furniture. Everything worked, which is not always the case in East African hotels. Wonderful staff, a great menu and bar, nice and seemingly expensive appointments. Close to local shopping. The power went out a few times, but apparently there is... More

A taximan convinced me to book a room in the hotel last year. I have never looked for accommodation elsewhere whenever I visit Kigali. It is a small hotel with larger, cleaner and better furnished rooms than even four-star hotels in the town. They do airport transfers and have delicious food. Luxury Hotel is the hotel for those scared by... More

Fantastic value for money. Staff were excellent despite the fact that apart from the non front desk staff communication in fluent english was a challenge. The rooms were huge, en suite (as was the bathroom - i could fit a quuensie bed in there alongside the shower and toilet). Staff went beyond their duty to ensure that my trip was... More

Hotel Rwanda is a lovely hotel, completed refurbished and a pleasure to stay in for the seasoned traveler. The capital of Kigali, land of a thousand hills, sits in a beautiful valley. The capital has all the convenience of a modern city and the shopping is splendid. Culturally, the city is relatively old, but centrally located to other close by... More

Initially built as a private residence, the owners must have decided on converting it to a hotel when it became clear Kigali needed more rooms. As a residence though it was not built to hotel specs and the many corners, nooks and crannies, and stairs, lack the clear lines a purpose built hotel would show. The rooms are large, as... More

This is a clean and recently built hotel; Lots of small steps, bit of african taste. Big room and big bathroom with 2very big beds... Managment was very friendly. Still enough money for value, but ok for Kigali. Breakfast ok, nothing more.
