2 people stayed here one night for $36.The guys at the restaurant/bar are friendly. The private bathroom was good, except for the lack of hot water after they told us the hot water would work. . All of this was fine with us until.... we discovered that DIRECTLY across the street there was a much better place for $40 called... More

I stayed here one night with a group, the room was clean, bathroom and shower were fine and we had a good breakfast in the morning. Good location as well, pretty central in Kigali

we stayed for 11 nights. Location is excellent & central; the rooms and restaurant are tucked down an alleyway just behind street front buildings on a hilly slope near centre of Kigali. Rooms are all ground level situated in a courtyard type setting. Rates are very reasonable and good value with a couple options (we checked out 3 similar nearby... More

My fiance and I stayed here for 3 nights during our Round-the-world trip. We were kind of 'flash-packing' rather than backpacking so this place seamed like a good option. First night we stayed in one of the more mid-range doubles with a private bathroom. It was great. Heaps of space and big bathroom. There was also a nice little spot... More

I've stayed here twice, and I think it's 20,000F for a double room w/breakfast. The hotel is nothing special, but it's perfectly fine, and about as good of a value as you're going to find in Kigali. It's close to downtown and UTC, and the rooms are clean and decent. The breakfast is standard Rwandan - bread, omelette, coffee/tea -... More

A great find for the backpacker and budget traveler. The Auberge is not and does not try to be the Mille Collines. It is a travel hostel, but a comfortable, functional one with a great vibe, good water pressure and delicious, cheap breakfast. The staff is super helpful (Claude, who was there back in 2010, is now a pop star),... More

All in all a good start to our travels in Rwanda. Auberge la Caverne is not a 4* hotel so don't expect 4* rooms or facilities! If you are after a small, privately owned lodging which offers a good service on a limited budget then this is a good choice. Probably ideal if you are stopping in Kigali for one... More

the location in central kigali is the only thing going for this place. the staff were rude and very unhelpful and the rooms were shabby at best. we definitely did not feel safe leaving any important belongings in the room. we were not given a checkout time and the hotel was empty but they tried to charge us for another...
