Nice hotel and vey well located. Very good service specially at the reception. The ladies in red (as they are named due to their dressing) at the reception were very helpfull, specially one of them, Nida, who was always attentive to help the clients in any request.

This is a great place for a short stay in Kigali, the only hotel with any atmosphere and character and the staff are efficient, very friendly and helpful. And there are lots of them. Breakfast is a real treat and the Sunday Brunch one of the best. Kempinski have done really well with the attractive thatched bar and massage room... More

Good business hotel. Decent service and clean rooms. This is the hotel featured in "Hotel Rwanda". Creative breakfast juice - pineapple with ginger - quite refreshing. Decent and clean. Very skilled live band doing copyright music - good vocals. Bar atmosphere very lively. Sometimes the noise wafts up to the lower level rooms (1st-3rd floor). Efficient staff.

There are many reasons to stay here: the history, the pool, the breakfast... "The Lady in Red" is the real draw though. Within one hour of check-in, Nida had arranged VIP tickets for us to a sold-out football match, booked dinner at one of the best places in town, arranged a driver/tour guide for the weekend who became a fast... I am frequent Rwanda visitor and usually stay at the Serena. However, this Hotel has such great potential and for a Kempinski brand it's time for things to be taken care off. Lovely pool, nice views and kind staff. Food is also good. However, they can't seem to get a working gym in place. Not a single machine functions and... More

I spent a night here when coming to Kigali and the hotel is very nice with very good service and very good food. The only downside is the rooms. I can't really say there's something wrong with them, but when you look at the rest of the hotel and the price you pay the rooms seems a bit "boring" (that's... More

I got to stay at the hotel on 2 separate occasions within one week.On the first night, the room i had booked was unavailable and was lucky enough to get an upgrade to a Suite. Which should In fact be the standard room. The second time around I got a standard room for $280 and was beyond disappointed! It had... More

The grounds of this hotel are nice, and it is conveniently located close to the city centre. The pool is nice, but it's definitely not a 5-star hotel. I'm surprised, since the Kempinski name suggests it should be a lot nicer. But I did hear they're planning on updating the hotel this year, so maybe in future years it will... More

it is cool to stay at a place with so much story. The food is okay, the fish brochettes are good. The rooms are nice, very well located close to everything in Kigali. Lots of musicians and politicians hang out there

Any who have seen the film "hotel Rwanda" will recognize that, yes, this is the Hotel Des Mille Collines. It is a lovely hotel, at the edge of downtown Kigali, with a pool (that provided its water to those staying there during the 100 days of the 1994 genocide), outdoor and indoor dining, and upper end accommodation. It is a... More
