Compared with other guesthouses in Kigali, The iris is way overpriced; the bedrooms are very small, not clean, and quit nosy. The breakfast is wan the poorest we had during our stay in Kigali. One thing, is sure, we never go back to this place, there are far more better options in Kigali.

Iris Guesthouse is a small hotel built as a horse shoe around a garden and with the restaurant terrasse in one end towards the parking. The rooms are in two floors along the innerside of the horse shoe. The hotel has four main attractions: Outside each room you find a power plug and a table with two chairs. When looking... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in September 2012. This is a perfect start to Kigali and any Rwandan trip. Its only about USD20 for a taxi from the airport and situated in a very nice part of town, and a big bonus are very cold beers!! Its not far from the main Genocide memorial(not walking distance though) and the... More

I stayed on and off for two weeks at this hotel will in Rwanda on a consultant assignment. I had never heard of it before this stay. I found it to be a lovely place, although maybe a bit on the expensive side $75, it was very clean, friendly and hot water was always there. It is a typical African... More

Iris Guesthouse is a charming oasis just a few minutes walk from the centre of Kigali. Set around a verdant courtyard and fountain, each room is simply furnished, but clean and comfortable with a television, free wifi and ample hot water. There is also a restaurant serving simple but good fare at reasonable prices. The main attraction for me however... More

the Iris Guesthouse is tucked away on a quiet street so it is really peaceful. The rooms are small and clean and there is lots of hot water. I really liked the sitting area outside the room where you could use the WiFi and relax. The restaurant was good and pretty decent value. All of the staff we met were... More

Lovely garden, smallish rooms but good bathrooms and ok restaurant. Can't go wrong for a few nights here. Clean with wifi, tv and close to the city centre.

We stayed at Iris Guesthouse for 2 nights en route to a volunteer experience in the Rwandan countryside. It is a nice choice for a short stay. Kigali is surprisingly expensive, and Iris is a decent choice for the price. The rooms are basic and quite small, but the grounds are pretty, and the restaurant has a good menu and... More

This reasonably priced hotel is great for those staying in Kigali for a few days - I work for an NGO and there's a good reason many NGOs put their visitors in here. It's clean, safe & comfortable but also reasonably priced - certainly far cheaper than the likes of Milles Collines (whcih is fantastic but then at that price... More

Unless you are splurging, this is definitely a great choice in Kigali. I've stayed here more than 6 times over the last 5 years. The Iris Guesthouse is great value. Friendly, helpful staff and simple, clean rooms on 2 floors that surround a fragrant garden and patio dining area. Located in a lovely, hilltop, upscale residential neighbourhood, only minutes from... More
