If you have to go to Niamey, and I recommend that you don't, you may consider staying at Hotel Gaweye because Grand Hotel du Niger is permanently fully booked. You will not be disappointed if your expectations are very, very, very low. You are in a very poor African country after all. Everything in this hotel looks tired. So does... More

This was my second stay in Hotel Gaweye. Compared to my first stay in December 2014, a lot has changed. Carpets, sofas, and all other aesthetic part of the hotel have changed. Even their main restaurant has finished renovation and now looking very new and clean. However, the rooms are still the same. It has that hotel feeling compared to... More

Good location if attending a meeting at the Palias Congress, otherwise not idea for a holiday. Noisy, poor internet connectivity, but very friendly staff though. Not up to standard for it's 4 star rating.

Apart from the spacious and fairly appealing entrance and reception area, it's like stepping into a hotel in an 70:s James Bond Movie and you look twice for Roger Moore or thugs to rush past you when you step out of the elevator... Rooms are old dark with a slight humid pungent smell... Service is uninspired and sleepy and customer-mindedness... More

Very old hotel, old staff this place is like a joke when when I read that it's among the best hotels in Niamey. Carpets are worn-down, bathrooms are dirty, towels are old and also worn-down. The staff is not friendly and doesn't care about your needs. You can enter the restaurant, eat and go out without being seen by a... More

This is by far the biggest dump I have been to in a long, long while. It is not only a dump, it is a total rip-off. It is close to a crime to call this place a hotel. It is everything you do not want: it is old, dirty and worn-down. Staff lacks all the basic skills expected. The... More

this hotel is known to be best hotel in Niamey, Niger. But now day by day their services are not up to the mark. The hotel needs serious renovation on bath room & carpet cleaning. check in was ok.Food around the pool at night was also ok. Overall it was not up to the 4 star level
