I just came back from a 8 day trip to Niger. I stayed for 6 days in the Tapoa hotel at the entrance of the natural Parc W. The great thing of the environment is that you can easily combine Wildlife watching (buffalo's, crocodiles, deer, several types of monkeys, hippopotamus and more) and solidarity with the local population. This can be achieved already by visiting Niger and can be re-enforced by excursions organized by the Tapoa hotel. You can visit villages by boat (over the Niger) to meet the teachers, elderly and beekeepers, or by foot or 4-wheel. At each excursion in the parc, the guides provide answers on any question.
In addition the Tapoa hotel provides a great level of comfort with pool and air-conditioned rooms. The best period to go to the south of Niger is between November and April. more
