We stayed at The Safari Hotel for one night at the beginning of November. The staff were all very helpful and attentive. We ate in the restaurant as it was the easiest option rather than wandering in unknown surroundings. There was a carvery and a large choice of buffet items. It was very reasonably priced and adequate. The breakfast was... More

The room was ok (it was rather clean) but a tad too old. When it comes to the bathroom, it needs more cleaning (I found hair in the shower when I arrived). Also... the rooms are a bit "far" from the reception (approx. 5 minute walk), so it might be tricky if you travel with a lot of heavy suitcases.... More

We stayed here for a conference for a couple of days. Let's start with the good things: The hotel has a big and clean pool with a nice garden. The rooms however are old and need to be renovated, including furniture and the bathrooms. The worst part about it: The food and the waiters. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner... More

Lukewarm water, poorly maintained rooms, dreadful service, lack of visible management, poor training of staff, lack of porters, and unhelpful receptionists sums up the Hotel Safari. I am a cat lover but was quite disgusted to find a plethora of neglected cats and kittens around the rooms. Visited the hotel a few years ago and it has definitely deteriorated since... More

Please do not waist your time and money to go to the Restaurant of the Safari Hotel in Windhoek. Their waiters are doing their best, but their food is pathetic. They charge you N$130,00 per person for Sunday Lunch Buffet but the food they provide and the choices available is worse than that of a corner cafe take-away. Some of... More

Stayed here for one night before an overland tour departing for Botswana. Rooms: well-maintained, similar to any standard western hotel room. Showers were hot and well-pressurized. Complimentary wifi was available. Services: gym, pool and other amenities were all very nice relative to other places I've stayed in Africa. Breakfast is delicious and served daily buffet-style from 6am. It consisted of... More

The Safari Hotel is not an expensive hotel, but it is dreary and much in need of freshening up. For the sentimental, it does offer many flashback's to the 70s with plenty of brown and orange decor and even a headboard mounted radio with preprogrammed dial for changing stations. Receptionists are lacking in enthusiasm and once you have your room... More

We traveled to Namibia in Sept. 2013 and I was nervous about accomodations....not knowing if standards would be the same. The Safari Hotel was excellent. Very clean and just like anything you would walk in to in the United States. The rooms were typical for a Hilton, Marriott type hotel and the staff was very helpful. We had a wonderful... More

The only positive point I can mention is that check in was friendly and efficient. Everything went horribly wrong from there. Reading some of the other reviews I have to agree with the comment that this hotel has not been upgraded or maintained since opening. I stayed in one of the the business rooms which was terribly outdated. I could... More

We stayed over one night with our boys of 6 and 10. The family rooms we booked were not available and we ended up in the hotel with two rooms and interleading doors. The rooms were clean, but bedding a bit old and torn ins some places. Breakfast was OK.
