While flying Air Namibia ( sucked ), our flight was delayed and we ended up spending the night in Windhoek. Air Namibia put us up in this hotel. It was probably the first time during our trip when we were really pleasantly surprised by the food offered at the hotel's buffet. Variety of European, American, and African foods. All you... More

we stayed in the hotel for 3 nights on a business trip. The hotel is nice, rooms are specious and convenient though a/c is a bit noisy. Location is very good. The problem was that there was no hot water in the hotel for day and a half out of the 3 days we stayed there. We were told about... More

Excellent standard of room, definitely 4+ star. The rooms have been recently renovated and offer plenty of space particularly for business. Internet is not free and is expensive. Great central situation which again good for business visits. Staff attentive and main restaurant good quality. Stayed 16 nights More

The air conditioner was noisy as hell and stuck on 25 degrees, the room was a sauna. I complained twice but it was not fixed. There was no tomato sauce on the first day, "it's locked up". They had no beef in the restaurant or room service the second day. Room service had no idea what the restaurant could offer.... More

I happened to pop into this hotel, as I had not made a reservation anywhere in Windhoek. When enquiring about the rates, the lady at reception asked if I was a pensionner. When I replied that I was she informed me that special rates were then available - I answered that that was the first time age had worked in... More

We booked this only as a stop-over between traveling from Sossusvlei to Etosha and were pleasantly surprised. Great location – near everywhere we needed to be in Windhoek and we especially enjoyed the casino. Nice buffet – limited choice to what we came from at Sossusvlei Lodge, but acceptable. Staff were friendly and helpful with our early departure the next... More

Kalahari Sands Hotel is smack-bang in the centre of Windhoek, so everything is within easy reach. The hop-on bus departs straight in front of the hotel, at the tourist kiosk. There is a great park accross the street from the hotel, great for a lazy afternoon stroll or just sit there and check out the city life. I've found a... More

Service here has always been excellent. I've never had a problem at the "Sands" and this was my fifth stay. Also I've never managed not to win some extra spending holiday cash at the Casino. Maybe just lucky that way but it certainly helps with petrol and expenses when vacationing. The location can't be beat because of "Checkers" supermarket directly... More
