This was our upteenth trip to Africa...but our first to Namibia. Our first night stay was at Hotel Heinitzburg....and the accomodations were exceptional. Count von Schweriin commissioned the castle for his fiance Margareth in 2014. As the legend says...love was his inspiration and elegance his achievement. And it still holds today. Gracious host...and dining supreme...with an VERY exceptional wine cellar.... More

After a long trip from the UK via Johannesburg, by the time we reached Windhoek we were weary but the warmth of our reception including a glass of fizz brought to our room which we took to the sundowner terrace dragged us back to life. Perched high up above the Namibian capital with great views, the outdoor terrace provided a... More

Visits 5 and 6 to this hotel confirmed my earlier reviews: Good location, perfect terrasse for a sundowner and an ok restaurant, but very cold rooms in wintertime! Room 14 could not be heated with the airconditioner, room 13 which I got for the second night could be heated with the aircon. But the bathroom stayed cold! The restaurant is... More

We stayed at the beginning and at the end of our self-driving tour at the Heinitzburg. This beautiful hotel combines the historical building of 1914 with elegant furniture and modern comfort. We stayed in two different rooms and each of it was cosy, with comfortable beds and a spacious shower. Before you go to bed one of the “angels” remake... More

We booked into the Heinitzburg for two nights at the start of our holiday. After a long flight it was the ideal place to relax. The setting is beautiful - especially the views over Windhoek. The hotel has all the amenities you would expect from a hotel of its class. We ate both nights in the restaurant and we were... More

We just returned from a 4 night stay here and fell in love with it. It is very nice! The castle has a very nice patio for enjoying wine as well as sitting out for breakfast. The rooms are very nice and the pool area was quite enjoyable and relaxing. Eat at Leo's, it's terrific!

While I didn't stay at this property, a group of us went to the Garden Terrace for drinks and a light dinner. First, the location is fabulous, with views in several directions over Windhoek. The terrace is beautifully furnished and the staff cannot do enough to help. I had a bit of a look around the the hotel has a... More

From lots and lots of hotels we stayed in many countries of Africa, this one is truly the best. Super cosy hotel rooms, good restaurant, well trained staff, european atmosphere, good wifi. Feels like home.

The best springbok I ate so far, very well cooked. The wine recommendation also superb, congratulations to the sommelier. And the waiters and waitresses all very attentive and professional. A place worth dining in Windhoek!!
