Our two night stay at the Hotel Heinitzburg was a delightful beginning to our three week vacation in southern Africa. Our beautifully furnished room overlooked the garden and the pool, which, since the hotel had few guests, became our private hideaway. The attention to detail in the room was exceptional, from the decor, to the roses, to the champagne. The... More

This is probably one of the better hotels in Windhoek. It has a lovely setting and a great view. Our room was fine though the decor is a little frou-frou for my tastes. We spent a couple of hours by the pool which was nice enough. The food at dinner was decent though again, too fussy. What lets this place... More

My wife and I stayed here one night before commencing our four week journey in Namibia and Botswana. Great place. Built 1914 as a small castle and later turned into a hotel. Very charming. Top notch service level. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. With good AC. A large TVscreen. Good WiFi. The bathrooms are OK but not more. The... More

The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking Windhoek. The rooms are large and nicely appointed but not in a "cookie-cutter" way. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was that bottled water wasn't provided.

All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming especially at reception. My server at dinner, Desiree, was attentive and polished and provided some pleasant conversation after the meal. Clearly staff selection is handled carefully. The food was delicious and nicely presented; the view from the terrace unmatched. Wi-fi from the room was very good. Early departure arrangements were made... More

We stopped at the hotel to end our Africa Safari Camping trip. And wow, what a great service we got, everything you expect from this hotel and even more! Especially after a week of camping we felt so pampered. We didn't have dinner there but we ordered some drinks. Cocktails are good and well priced, whiskey is very expensive comparing... More

Spent a very comfortable night in one of my favourite hotels in the world. Attentive and friendly staff, wonderful room and bathroom, a great breakfast and the most spectacular views over Windhoek. Can't think of a better place to enjoy a drink or two as the sun goes down. Can't wait for my next stay.

Having only stayed at this hotel one night I was very impressed by the attentiveness of the staff and the beautiful grounds including a small but appreciated swimming pool. The view over the city was a bonus. The hotel itself is a former castle with much memorabilia of the early "pioneer" days in Namibia and the construction phase. I stayed... More

Windhoek - the Heinitzburg 10 out of 10 in every conceivable aspect; absiolutely faultless. Delightful attentive staff, the glorious guest rooms & other facilities & candidly `value-for-money` it is a place we`d hasten back to personally, as well as widely herald to potential guests as `the` place to stay in Windhoek. If we had one regret it was only staying... More
