This was our first visit to Windhoek – a charming small City – enroute to safari camps. There seem to be a couple of finer hotel choices – the one we selected was Hotel Heinitzburg. It is set on a hill with a spectacular view looking out to Windhoek. Our experience was mixed; the restaurant was exceptional whereas the hotel... More

This is a lovely place, about 15 minutes walk from the center, but with a magnificent view. Some rooms can be a little noisy due to proximity to the traffic. Overall, a good place for a stopover, either to start or end your Nabibia tour

Stayed 1 night passing though Windhoek. Polished staff. Hotel and rooms are actually quite nice and very clean. Dinner is reasonably priced, very good food. -1 star for the owner/manager just being downright surly. Each encounter with him was plain uncomfortable. A little warmth goes a long way.

Well appointed room and bathroom and the restaurant is exquisite with well presented food and excellent service. The food is delicious and of a high standard. Receiving fresh fruit and flowers made it extra special. The hotel is within walking distance to the Windhoek CBD. Best views in town from their terrace and restaurant. Good relaxing time next to pool... More

I made a last-minute booking with this hotel on 3 August while travelling in Namibia, paying them a large amount (approx US$1000) for two nights (6 and 7 August) for a family room. On the morning of 4 August one of my children became seriously ill and had to be sent by air ambulance to South Africa. The rest of... More

We stayed at the Heinitz for one night on two separate occasions in late July. The staff and setting were wonderful. There is a definite old world feel in the restaurant and patio area. The wine cellar was beautiful. The breakfast which is included, was amazing also, with such a variety of choices. Again, the restaurant setting overlooks Windhoek and... More

My guests had a lovely stay but the whole event was spoiled by the shocking attitude of the owner and his arrogance. Spending the type of money one does at this hotel one would expect a gracious approach from senior management but not a chance. Absolutely shocking and arrogant behaviour.

The receptionists seemed totally uninterested in us The rooms are fine, clean, have everything you need but are nothing to write home about. Wifi is available in the rooms and works well If you are looking for peace or a romantic stay, note that everything can be heard from other rooms, (something which the manager failed to accept when confronted... We stayed for one night in a large corner room. Once they got the bugs in our room sorted, we could make our way to the restaurant for dinner. Dinner was great and staff very attending - so overall a nice experience. Breakfast was above average, so nothing wrong there.
