We had spent two weeks in tented camps and lodges, and chose the Heinitzburg because we fancied some luxury. We had asked for a quiet room on the highest floor available, and were given a ground floor room overlooking a main road, beside the reception. We have stayed at other Relais & Chateau hotels elsewhere, but the staff here were... more

My stay at Henizburg Hotel was just lovely! Hotel is beautiful, restaurant has fantastic gourmet menu and their wine cellar has most amazing collection of South African vintage wines. People who work there are very warm and helpful.. One of my best experiences. more

We spent two nights at the Heinitzburg in August and had wonderful stay. Our room was huge, very well appointed, and spotlessly clean with lovely little touches such as the fresh flowers in the room and bathroom. We enjoyed a great dinner at Leo's restaurant: the food was so good and the wine list (or the bible as the staff... more

I have stayed at the Heinitzburg several times. It is very pleasant, with a wonderful view over the city of Windhoek, and good cuisine. However the last visit showed a side of the hotel that has lost me as a guest. In short, I checked out a day early from a 3 night stay, and was charged for the third... more

We stayed a total of three nights - two upon arrival to Namibia and one on our way out. The restaurant is quite good and can be highly recommended and quite popular with locals as well. We also found the rooms to be clean, modern, and comfortable. I understand that renovations will be taken up next year. Pool and gardens... more

Stayed one night at the end of our honeymoon in Namibia. The hotel itself is on a nice elevated site over the city and is fairly basic in terms of the rooms. They are nice but don't expect the Ritz. For me what stood out was the standard of the food in the restaurant and watching the sun going down... more

Stayed here for 1 night, prior to going on a tour of Namibia. If you go in expecting European or even South African standards, or think of the top Relais & Châteaux properties, then you'll be disappointed. However, this is the best hotel in Windhoek by a mile. Location is good, on a hill overlooking the city. You can walk... more

First time in Namibia, spent our first night and the last two nights in the country there. Considered it an outstanding place - nicely situated on a hill overlooking Windhoek, allthough not well placed as a base to do sightseeing on foot; the room and grounds nice and a superb restaurant and great terrace. Food was excellent as well as... more
