Located in a quiet residential neighborhood. I had a quiet ground floor room away from the pool. I enjoyed the breakfast and walk around the neighborhood looking at the flowers. There was a pizza place about a block away.

Rivendell was clean, comfortable and welcoming. We loved the pool, the sweet silly cat and watching the blue waxbills from the stoep. Our daughter was chuffed with the wi-fi and the selection of snacks in the kitchen.

We stayed here for one night each at the beginning and end of our safari. The room was clean, basic and not memorable. Frankly, though, this is not a luxury hotel and it is more than adequate for the price. The pool was murky and I question if you could swim in it. The breakfast hours were not very flexible,... Super helpful and accommodating. We arrived at Rivendell much earlier than the check in time. They kept our bags in reception and let us relax by the pool until our room was ready. Great pool area. Breakfast was great. Honesty bar was awesome. Sweet dogs too. They helped us get city tours and set up cabs to take us to... More

We stayed here on three separate nights while traveling in Namibia recently. We found the GH clean and friendly with a good pool. We enjoyed the breakfast - cooked freshly or Continental - sitting round a large table talking to other Travelers. They are quite happy for you to stay round the pool if waiting for a late departure and... More

This Guest House is REALLY POOR. We stayed at the self contained apartment for 3 nights. The beds are really hard and with very old sheets (with holes, and have been washed a million times)..The view was really sad (we looked into a dump that they have in the back yard)...the second day, no one came to collect the garbage... Below is my full e-mail reply to this review - Charlotte & David (owners). First is the initial section of e-mail from Jon regarding Rivendell: "This is to thank you very much for putting together our recent holiday itinerary in Namibia: we had a great time overall, and saw plenty of animals in Etosha despite the rain... Also, perhaps because... More

We've been traveling to Namibia every year for the past 10 years, and we always stay at Rivendell when in the city. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, the pool is a welcome relief during the hot season, and the honesty bar is a big plus (no need to venture to town for snacks and drinks). The place... More

Like some of the others here on TA we had our first and last nights in Namibia at the Rivendell. It's something of a hybrid between guest-house and motel, with a range of room types. One night we had the large room behind Reception, AC, wifi, with its own kitchen and living space; the other was a basic room opening... More

Very welcoming staff, large clean room with good facilities for the price you pay. Lots of space to relax in and great stocked honesty bar with lots of cold beer and homemade cake. Great breakfast - couldn't ask for more for our first nights stay in the country

I got to the B&B around 10 pm after a flight from Johannesburg. The lady at check in was friendly enough, she showed me around the property then to my room. My real problem with the room was no A/C, no windows for cross ventilation, and noise from the neighbors. It would have been nice if they could have opened... More
