It was the second time we stayed in Rivendell Guesthouse to start a trip in Namibia and the service is still perfect. Nice clean rooms, very friendly staff, nice breakfast, 10 min walk from the center of Windhoek. I would recommend this guesthouse to my friends! Lisbeth Belgium More

After two days of flights from US to Namibia, we needed a rest. Our stay at Rivendell was pre-arranged by Wild-Dog Safaris. We were very pleased with the selection. We were warmly greeted by the staff. We had a small en-suite room overlooking the small pool. The house is surrounded by lush, shady plants. It is in a very quiet... More

Over all a good place to stay, clean rooms, friendly staff, nice pool. Breakfast is a bit expensive and you will need a taxi to go into town. If you are looking for a place that is quiet and relaxing, this place is a good choice, if you like to be in the middle of things, you should look for... More

We used Rivendell as a base for our trip around Namibia. We travelled around Namibia and returned back to Rivendell 4 times throughout our trip. The staff were incredibly helpful in making our trip more comfortable and organized. We were able to leave our luggage there while we were away, arrange pick ups from various airports, and arrange fantastic packed... More

Many thanks for taking the time to post your review, and thank you for your positive comments! We are busy renovating the main bathroom inside the house at the moment with a new, larger shower, washbasin with stand and new tiling, paintwork and window. We are also replacing the main toilet with a new one and adding a small washbasin... More

Large rooms, secure parking and a friendly atmosphere. A very pretty and quiet garden with pleasant swimming pool. Easy access to the centre of Windhoek. An informal atomosphere so easy to exchange travel stories with other guests. The bedding and a few of the features give the guesthouse a slightly down-market feel which doesn't appear to match the price, but... More

Many thanks for taking the time to post your review! We are busy ordering new linen right now - we have a new supplier who will provide us with plain white, 200 thread count poly-cotton which is of a much higher standard than we presently use, so we hope that this will add some luxury to our rooms. The price... More

Having spent a hectic 3 weeks touring Botswana and Namibia with friends, I needed somewhere quiet and relaxing before catching the return flight to UK the next day. This was the ideal place as there was a lovely garden with comfortable loungers and a pool. The staff were most helpful, the breakfast was excellent, and there was a good restaurant just... More

A really friendly, attractive and comfortable place for us and our two older children - affordable and linked to a great tourist agency (ATI) who helped us sort out a car rental problem for free. Our first trip to Namibia was DEFINITELY made much better by starting off here - looking at the exotic birdlife, relaxing by the pool and... More

We stayed in Rivendell for 2 nights in April and May 2011 and really enjoyed it- the place is clean, rooms are well decorated and fairly spacious, breakfast was delicious. Service was great and very helpful. All in all- very good value for money. As Windhoek is most often used as a base and first/ last stop in exploring Namibia,... More
