After traveling for 30+ hours, we were made to feel at home at Rivendell. The entire staff was generous and went out of their way to both give us the space we needed yet provide assistance as necessary (dinner reservations, shuttle arrangements, internet, etc...). Our room was right off of the parking lot, but we were exhausted and were only... more

Four of us stayed at the Rivendell (http://rivendellnamibia.com) for two weeks while doing a service trip in Windhoek. We were able to get a triple room for R400 ($58) which they pulled an extra bed into for us - so between four people, it helped make the trip much more affordable. Great location, as it's on a pretty street just... more

From the warm, friendly service, to the lovely peaceful room, to the central location, this place ticked all the boxes for us. We also loved being able to cook our own meals in the well equipped kitchen, select a bottle of wine from the rack and enjoy our dinner inside or by the pool. more

We lived in Rivendell for 1 night in between our Namibia safari tour. The guest house was very pretty, the rooms are nice and spacious and Mandine's (the owner) hospitality was impressive. If I ever visit Windhoek again, I would stay in this guest house for sure. more

My husband and I stayed at the Rivendell December 23rd through the 25th, 2008 and could not have been more satisfied. Everyone was extremely helpful (especially Mandine) and the property was absolutely beautiful. The full breakfast each morning was great. We especially loved the two friendly dogs! more

I arrived on New Years Eve, as a single traveller and a little apprehensive. As soon as I arrived, I was made to feel most welcome and the staff couldn't do enough to help; suggesting restaurants, advising on the nearest shops, booking a city tour for the following morning etc etc. The room was very clean and comfortable, right next... more

Together with three other girls I have stayed in guesthouse Rivendell for three and a half months. We've been there from 09/19/2008 - 12/28/2008. We loved it to cook in the kitchen, to eat on the porch, relax next to the swimming pool, dive into the pool and to have a big barbecue in the garden. With the four of... more

We stayed at the Rivendell Guest House , Beethoven Street, Windhoek, on two occasions during our holiday. Firstly from the 4th – 7th August and secondly from the 10th – 11th August 2008. My party consisted of two adults and two children (aged 9 and 7 years). We found staff to be very helpful and they made us feel at... more

We arrived at Rivendell at 10:30pm and discovered it was closed. (We were delayed due to airport fog, ’couldn’t contact Rivendell since we were in the air, and consequentially arrived 30 mins. after the place had closed). There was no number to ring on the guest house gate – or anywhere – and so we couldn’t contact anyone to say... more

As per the previous review this is a great value for money guesthouse in Windhoek. We stayed here for two nights before a 10 day Explorer trip with Wild Dog & Kudu safaris (which we highly recommend, our tour guide was called Tongai and he has just started up his own tour company www.tongai-safaris.com and can highly reccommend him) The... more
