I stayed 2 nights on business in Windhoek. Located outside Windhoek it may be the best choice but I like smaller intimate lodges that offer something special. What is special about the River Crossing is first its scenery and second its staff. The view is incredible looking across the valley and Mountain range. I was specifically in Cabin 12 which... More

We had not problem at all with this lodge, apart from getting there! It is on the outskirts of Windoek, on B6 to the airport, right after (coming from downtown) the old railway bridge, where you have to take a sharp right exit crossing the highway to dive into a gravel road with no sign advertising the hotel. You climb... More

My husband and I are quite fussy but we liked this lodge. It isn’t fancy but the rooms were good, the staff friendly and the food just fine. The main attraction, from our point of view, was the wonderful deck to enjoy our sundowners while looking at the view. We did have a slight hiccup in as much as there... More

Nice Bungalows situated at the top of the mountain with a nice view over the mountain area.- surrounding silent. Breakfast and dinner average. Staff on the one hand very friendly in giving information and map for Windhoek on the other side it was a BIG problem to get the late check out which was booked by our travel agency. As... More

River Crossing Lodge is on the outskirts of Windhoek on the Airport road. It is situated on a hill overlooking Windhoek from the eastern side. The setting is beautiful and the atmosphere relaxed, unfortunately the staff is also very relaxed and the service are lacking big time. It seems if the staff is not properly trained. The food was good... More

This was our very last stay in wonderful Namibia after a few special weeks in the country. Very disappointing! Overall a complete lack of hospitality. Breakfasts - as part of the deal - were (very) poor. Reception on arrival took place over a bar counter by staff paging through dilapidated books for our reservation. Had only one dinner (only group... More

Rooms are just ok. Heater does not do nearly enough to warm the room on a freezing August night. Wifi in the main area but not in the rooms. Staff in the dining room was nice and the food was reasonable (better than at any of the Wilderness Lodges). But not a great experience. And definitely not in winter.

I would agree it is a most beautiful setting, but we did not enjoy our stay one bit. In fact we couldn't wait to get away. The staff are badly or not trained at all, they just seemed to hang about. Service was non-existent. The room did not have a hair dryer, shaver socket, or glasses in the bathroom. No... More

Great setting, lovely main area but a little tired. The views are fabulous, the food is good, the service is ok but no better. With just a bit more care it could be fabulous. Having said that it was perfect for our overnight stay before flying home.
