The rooms here were rather pokey and dark. There were no staff on duty when we arrived to advise us of facilities, where to eat etc. The room was actually quite comfortable but there was no space for washbags etc in the bathroom because there were so many ornamental objects. Because of this cleaning was less than satisfactory. However the... More

Our 1 night stay at Maison Ambre was the start of our lovely trip to Namibia. We received a warm and friendly welcome, if not entirely informative regarding Windhoek's attractions. The general decor is excellent and the bedroom had been recently refurbished. The shower, however, did not drain well. The room was air-conditioned, not something that came standard in all... More

Very welcoming and kind staff, very tidy guest house. Spacey rooms including very good mosquito nets for the beds! Lovely pool and table areas outside. Great breakfast as well! Multi lingual staff (German, English, Afrikaans). Restaurants and ATM about 15min walk away. For people wanting to visit the city centre this might be a bit decentral (about 30min walk). I... More

I stayed here twice and enjoyed the guesthouse a lot. It is clean and quiet with a nice garden. I only met Beate on the last morning of my visit but the couple who were standing in for Beate were great. The breakfasts were good. There are no restaurants nearby but they were accommodating when we purchased food from the... More

My wife and I stayed four nights at this well appointed, clean, quiet guesthouse. Breakfasts were excellent, pool was a godsend on hot days. Beate and her staff were very helpful. Best if you have car as it is a half hou walk to downtown. We did not have a car and enjoyed the walk to town. There are good... More

I would give this nice little guest house and its charming owner Beate more than three stars if it had not been such trouble to find taxi drivers willing to take you from the city center to Klein Windhoek.... Otherwise really charming, nice, clean - would go there again!

I spent a weekend here as I was visiting friends in the city. It is very close to all the evening spots and some great restaurants. I found it to be very central for general city sightseeing and even grocery shops, although I did have a hired car. My room was clean and really large, with a lounge, kitchenette, bathroom... More

we stayed there two night, the room was clean and spacious. the owners were very kind and helpful, they even prepared us a "take away" breakfast since we had to leave the room at 4.30AM to go to the airport. It is a little bit far from city centre (taxi needed in the evening, it costs 30NAD/person), wifi is not... More

This is a small B&B that's almost labyrinthine. There are quite a few guest rooms around the property with access to a bar area and a nice looking swimming pool [although I didn't have time to try it]. It's a 15 or 20 minute walk from the centre of Windhoek that's very good value, clean, comfortable and safe with free... More
