I spent three days at the Hotel Ibis in Maputo during a trip to South Africa and Mozambique. While I had some difficulty changing money at the front desk from dollars to meticais, the rest of my stay was pleasant. I discovered an ATM on the other side of the street, which was ironic because the Mozambican central bank is next door to the hotel. Keep in mind that this is not a luxury hotel, but a basic one. The rooms were clean with blond wood furniture. The hotel has a restaurant. One of its most important features is its proximity to Rua Bagamoyo, a lively (sometimes overly so) area with bars and clubs.
