I have stayed at this hotel on 4 occasions. It is well located if you are planning to do business in Port Louis. Rooms are a good size, menu is excellent and service is top notch. Only negative is the lack of free wifi. Having to pay for wifi in a 5 star hotel is really irritating.

After waiting over an hour and a half at the Airport to get my bag from the Air Mauritius London flight this hotel was a sight for sore eyes. There are money changing facilities as soon as you walk out past customs. For the first time traveller if you don't know there are duty-free shops next to arrival baggage carousel... More

Would I return -- absolutely -- BUT (read on). Lots of good and true things have been written on this hotel -- business orientation, central location, great restaurants, and so on, but a few folks have commented that five star status is no longer warranted. Perhaps so. The bathroom mirror is dark; bad lighting in the room (4-25 watt bulbs,... More

With 200,000 frequent flyer points about to expire with Qantas, we booked a return trip for Christmas at Labourdonnais as this hotel purportedly has the best restaurant on the island (it does although Le Capitane's at Grand Baie would go close). Trouble is that I made it for January in error, so we had 23-27 January at Port Louis but... More

This hotel was included in our Air Mauritius business class fare to Joburg. After a great flight from Perth we were left waiting in the minivan for our transfer to this hotel for 1.5hours! Not what you want after a long flight. The hotel beautifully situated on the waterfront was a welcome sight when we eventually arrived. Courteous and quick... More

An overnight stay for a New Years treat turned from being a delightful evening to being blasted by a local DJ who didn't get the clientele. Forget sleep! Check-in done very well, desk staff and porters charming. Room pleasant but a strong odour of new paint - the quick squirt of room freshener didn't work. headache in the morning. Breakfast... More

The hotel is on the waterfront overlooking the port. There is no beach! This is not a vacation hotel. One enters to a marble floored entry hall that is tastefully decorated. Friendly staff greets you and the check-in process is quite efficient. A glass elevator takes you to up to the 6th floor. Very comfortable rooms with a small balcony... More

As good as all the other reviews seem, my experiences here are a little different. For me, the small things make all the difference. The little personal touches, levels of service, the ease of getting things done. Maybe its because I see so many hotels in a year. Maybe its becasue staying in a hotel is more of a chore... More

If you are doing business in Port Louis, the capital, then thsi has to be the best hotel to stay. The service is fully focused on the businessman and meetings, unlike the majority of the hotels on the island. The rooms are very comfortable and there are two restauarants to dine at. There are several meeting rooms to choose from... More

Stayed at Labourdonnais for 3 days on business in Port Louis. The hotel has a very grand colonial feel. The rooms are massive and very comfortable. The food is first class and the location is generally very good (although ironically these days, most of the business in Mauritius seems to be done in business centres outside of the capital). Maybe... More
