The Hotel Relais is a good clean hotel with a new building at the back with new rooms. The new building is the best to stay in, as everything in the rooms is also new, and rooms are very spacious. The hotel is well situated in the center op the Hippodrome and is close to everything you might need. The... More

I stay in this hotel whenever I visit Bamako ( on business ). Romms in the annexe are spacious and better since it was newly constructed. Rooms in the main wing are slightly cramped and one can feel claustrophobic too. Breakfast is a rip off and is not worth the 6000 fcfa they charge. But, rooms are clean and the... More

This is a rather typical West-African hotel that has outlived its time. The rooms are just okay, without charm and in need of renovation. Better can be found at the same price. The hotel has two advantages: it is centrally located, and it has a good restaurant (though a rather poor breakfast and slow service).

I can't believe that the other reviewers that love the Relais stayed at the same hotel I did. I ended up here because it is the 50th anniversary of independence here in Mali, and there were no other rooms to be found. I'm sitting in my room now and this is what I see: --Very old, frayed blue carpet that... More

Many of the hotels in Bamako are like islands and there is nothing to walk to nearby. Le Relais is the exception. It is between 2 very nice ex-pat orientated grocery markets, and there are a couple of bars and a very nice patisserie with a full menu (and awesome croissants) within 50 metres. Also banks with ATM's, Get a... More

I stared at Le Relais when I arrived in Bamako for 3 nights and then again for 3 nights before I left. I stayed in 2 different rooms, one with a balcony and then their standard room. Both were very nice: clean, good general lighting in both rooms, but also excellent for reading. The staff is great as well, very... More

This is an above avg. value. It is a good choice for a busy traveler. Rooms are small, but well-maintained. Service is pleasant. Italian-themed restaurant serves delicious food, with many choices. And best of all free wireless internet that covers the entire property, including the pool area. I was very glad to be staying here for 2 weeks,
