Hotel Cochineal is improving - I have been there 4 times. Good, quite place, well located in town. Swimming pool, small but good gym, and good restaurant for breakfast, lunch and diner. Clean rooms, with good mosquito net.

I like this place, it's like its own miniature campus with well manicured grounds, cute fountain, a gym, restaurant and pool. The AC blows cold which is important in Bamako - it's been between 109F (43C) and 114F (46C) all week. Staff is wonderful. The girls in the restaurant speak no English but will help you stammer through French teaching... More

La Coccinelle is a decent hotel, considering the price. Safe, secure, and with friendly staff. Rooms are variable -- from tiny to apartment style -- but are in good condition and generally comfortable with key amenities including mosquito netting and air conditioning. The rooms, linens, and towels could be cleaner but the staff was always friendly about replacements and thankfully... More

Hotel La Coccinelle is a very good hotel to visit if you are visiting Bamako for the first time, it is safe and secure and rooms are in good condition, the Hotel is situated in the Hippodrome Area. This is a small, comfortable pavilion hotel. Sadly, they don't have an IT specialist, so the managers try to get your wireless working the best they can. I discovered myself leaving early for the office because of the sporadic connectivity in my room. The rooms themselves are OK. The BBC went off cable on my second day, so I was... More

I was put onto this place after the other main hotels being full. How happy was I?? The hotel is more like a motel with rooms being accessed from exterior doors. There is a pool and a small but reasonably stocked gym. The restaurant serves good food and staff are friendly. Wifi can be slow and I didn't have working... More

This was a good stay. The hotel is small and simple. But most importantly very clean. The WiFi was working all throughout my stay (a week). The rooms are pretty large, AC works well, there are mosquito nets on the beds. There is a restaurant in the hotel with good food, a little pricey but not more that the other... More
