We were visiting our daughter who is working an 8 hour drive away from Bamako in a very rural spot. We all stayed in the hotel for two nights to give her some much needed r and r. We arrived on the day there had been some violence in the city and it did indeed feel like a safe haven.... More

This small hotel is located on the south bank of the river Niger in Bamako. It is directly by the river, with open views from some of the rooms. At Bamako standards it is clean and well managed, and the restaurant on the river terrace is a great addition. I stayed for four nights on business and had no complaints... More

Did great food right on the Niger River. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. They do a great pizza and steaks. The beer is cold and good wine is available on the menu. I would recommend it to people visiting Bamako.

Had good dinner in the restaurant on the terrace with fantastic view over Niger River. Hotel rooms are basic but nice. Mosquito nets are value added. Bathroom very basic but sufficient. Would not have expected such a nice place in Bamako. Staff very friendly.

I have never tried the hotel and I am only commenting on the restaurant: great view, very relaxing, but overpriced food for its quality (avoid the pizzas in particular) and got a couple of unpleasant experiences with waiters.

The Badala is a lovely, quiet hotel situated right on the Niger River. Rooms are large and some have fantastic views of the river. Food is fantastic and the staff are super-friendly. The boutique sells some great local products including the "Back to Bamako" t-shirts! Internet can be temperamental but this is a problem from the provider, not the internal... More

I loved the place. I was in town for business no time for anything, I barely saw Bamako. Came out for air during lunch break and it was one of the best views I've ever seen. Felt like out of town, very natural.

This really is a great hotel in a quiet part of town. The location is great by the river which makes for a fantastic dining experience. The food is good, if a bit pricey. The rooms are beautiful and the beds comfortable with good, reliable AC. Even the showers are lovely (which is unusual in Mali). The pool and garden... More

Great hotel - good food, good rooms, etc. But I asked a receptionist to help me order a taxi to take me to a restaurant and back (since I don't speak french!). I thought the price she negotiated was high and said as much but she insisted it was a great deal. Now that I've converted CFA into dollars I... More

I have not stayed at the Badala, just had dinner with friends. And the food is simply delicious! Not fancy or original, good traditional dishes, but light and tasty. I had the capitaine a la plancha, the best in weeks spent in West Africa, a very fresh salad and simply delicious fries. I did not want the latter, which came... More
