The Badala is a lovely, quiet hotel situated right on the Niger River. Rooms are large and some have fantastic views of the river. Food is fantastic and the staff are super-friendly. The boutique sells some great local products including the "Back to Bamako" t-shirts! Internet can be temperamental but this is a problem from the provider, not the internal... More

I loved the place. I was in town for business no time for anything, I barely saw Bamako. Came out for air during lunch break and it was one of the best views I've ever seen. Felt like out of town, very natural.

This really is a great hotel in a quiet part of town. The location is great by the river which makes for a fantastic dining experience. The food is good, if a bit pricey. The rooms are beautiful and the beds comfortable with good, reliable AC. Even the showers are lovely (which is unusual in Mali). The pool and garden... More

Great hotel - good food, good rooms, etc. But I asked a receptionist to help me order a taxi to take me to a restaurant and back (since I don't speak french!). I thought the price she negotiated was high and said as much but she insisted it was a great deal. Now that I've converted CFA into dollars I... More

I have not stayed at the Badala, just had dinner with friends. And the food is simply delicious! Not fancy or original, good traditional dishes, but light and tasty. I had the capitaine a la plancha, the best in weeks spent in West Africa, a very fresh salad and simply delicious fries. I did not want the latter, which came... More

I stay at this hotel every time I come to Bamako on business, and it has been wonderful seeing it develop over the course of the last three years. A smaller hotel in the residential neighborhood of Badalabougou, it is decorated beautifully and the staff are always extremely friendly and accommodating. It has a nice pool and delicious restaurant. The... More

This hotel is mediocre. The food at the restaurant is good and the hotel is overall clean. However, not a good choice for business trips as it does not have professional amenities and comfort. The room is big but set up in a weird way, quite basic and dark. Not very pleasant to hang out in. The toilet smelled like... More

This is an excellent choice for Bamako - the hotel has beautiful rooms, very tastefully decorated, very clean and quality linens and bedding, very spacious rooms too. I am thoroughly pleased and comfortable. However, there isn't an elevator so handicapped, sick, or elderly should be aware, and also the restaurant is grossly overpriced, but the food is good.

I was disappointed with the Badala hotel- it could be a great hotel but they are missing a lot of the small things- like bednets, because there were lots of mosquitos. It sucks when you wake up and there are spots of blood on the sheets from the mosquitos. Appropriate soap in the bathroom would have been nice, but instead... More
