I must admit, I had my reservations when booking this hotel however I was pleasantly surprised. My room was clean and tidy, with everything from an iron to a scale in the bathroom. The breakfast was standard, but the dinner was exceptional. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the hotel. This hotel would have received at least four stars from... More

This hotel is actually good, the pricing is corresponding to the type of services. The rooms are quite good and elegant. However the service is dominantly chinese and not Malawian, probably reflecting the ownership. One has a feeling of being in China rather than Malawi. If one wants a true Malawian experince, try the Sunbird, a km or so away,... More

Have stayed at this hotel on 3-4 different occasions. I like the space of the hotel, the modern and generally clean rooms, location of the hotel is ideal for meetings in the city or trips out, and also a quick trip to the airport. Price is good as well at around $110/night as some of the Sunbird hotels are way... More

We stayed at the Golden Peacock in June 2014. When shopping for a hotel online, this appeared to be the best option to host a conference. As we arrived arrived we were in awe of the architecture and the grandeur of the hotel. All the signs are in Chinese with (some inaccurate English translations). There are hoards of Chinese tourists... More

I stayed at the Golden Peacock for 8 nights in August 2014. It was my second stay in Malawi, but my first time at Golden Peacock hotel. 1. Overall/ Front Office Even though the decoration items at the reception area are quite “flashy” and can create a negative impression, the hotel has a lot of amenities. There is a small... More

I will not stay in this hotel again. The only plus points were that the rooms are clean and there is free internet. The AC in my room did not work, and the bath is tiny - why not just put in a shower? When I was there I could not make international calls from my room, and I never... More

I've stayed in Lilongwe a number of times at various hotels over the past nine years. This is a comfortable hotel that is far better than the other hotels I've experienced in the capital. The rooms are relatively new, very comfortable and clean, the bathroom is large, and things work. There is a desk, an electric kettle, and a fridge.... More

Im not sure why this is listed under B & B's. It truly is a hotel. Whatever problems they may have had in the past with the attitude of the staff, they have fixed it! The staff was helpful and cordial. The bell boy even ran over to the shopping center for us to get us some snacks. We were... More

I stayed at the Golden Peacock for a 2 week work trip to Lilongwe. First time to the country and as we drove up to the hotel grounds, I was taken aback by the shear size of this hotel given its surroundings. 2 wings separated by a short walkway and a very decent size swimming pool. The hotel definitely have... More
