Well situated. Different kind of rooms for different pokets. Interesting museum inside for free. Swimming pool. Snack at the swimming pool. Buffet restaurant and another elegant resto, three in total. Cozy decoration. Close some interesting shops.

This hotel is certainly 'quirky' with its various room types, passages and layout which makes it interesting and adds variety to the normal hotel offering. We stayed at the start and end of our tour with GMT+3 and were very pleased with their recommendation. We stayed in 2 different rooms one of which was an older 2-room offering, the other... More

What a great hotel! Friendly staff, excellent food and my room was simply amazing! Note that there are a lot of different room types. I was initially in a fairly average room, but for around 58 euros moved to this amazing room, overlooking the pool. The room was huge, and the bathroom is probably one of the nicest I've seen.... Sakamanga is a surprise. From the busy street you walk through a gate, the only way in or out I was able to discover, to the entrance foyer and are suddenly some serenity and safety from the demands of hawkers etc outside! Our guide had advised us not to leave the hotel at all but I don't know if this... More

I ve been to the Carlton hotel before and can say that this small boutique hotel in the centre of Tana is very nice. I booked for one of the suite, which is very comfortable for 80€. The restaurant is nice, the food is good, and the neighborhood is great with a lot of small restaurants/ maisons d hote. The... More

Saka managa is simply a special place. It's not resort style luxury, it's just simple, elegant, and practical for an incredible price. The location is an easy walk to the main square, but a bit higher up on the hill above the hustle and bustle. The attached restaurant is great. The mini-museum and artwork on the walls are impressive. I've... More

Sakamanga is fantastic, we stayed there a couple of nights in different rooms. They all were decorated individually and you will find a room for every budget. We felt at home from the very first moment. The breakfast and the food in the restaurant was great: fresh juices during breakfast and nice meat in the evening. It is a little... More

Well, not in my wildest dreams did I imagine the sanctuary the Sakamanga turned out to be. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We were upgraded to a 'Lux' room -- wow! Spacious suite, very tastefully furnished (I wonder who their interior designer was) and really well finished. Big safe, four-poster bed with great mattress, slippers, dressing gowns, free WiFi... I first booked with Hotel Sakamanga because of the many TripAdvisor reviews and was wary of whether it would live up to expectations. It not only lived up but exceeded expectations. While the layout, as mentioned by other reviewers, was not your typical hotel, it was adorably quirky and felt cozy and homey. For $25, I got a cute little... More

This centrally located and professionally run hotel is rightfully one of the top picks in Tana. There is lots of competition in this city but the Sakamanga is up there with the best of them. The hotel has been expanding and adding buildings over the years so it doesn't have a traditional hotel layout. At first this can come across... More
