I've stayed at the Royal Grand on four occasions and I've also stayed at four other hotels, all of which are supposedly high quality facilities. The Royal Grand is hands down the best of all of them, and after spending years visiting Liberia I can honestly say that it's the best hotel in the capital of Monrovia. While it is... More

In March I stayed at the Royal Grand for the second time in the last two years. It has been a hard year for Liberia with Ebola and I visited again to support TackleEbola - a campaign to get rid of Ebola from West Africa. I always like staying at the Royal Grand. Friendly staff, lovely rooms, good location, and... More

The hotel staff are friendly and accommodating and very professional. The restaurant food is tasty, but a little pricey, however the food at the cafe downstairs is both reasonably priced and very nice. The high-speed wifi is ridiculously slow - you shouldn't need to refresh three times to open a simple webpage, not even in Liberia.

During the tough period in September 2014, when the Ebola epidemic was spiking, the Royal Grand Hotel provided me all possible comfort and warm welcome that enabled my work to help fight the epidemic. Many thanks to all staff! Carmem Pessoa

Stayed here for around a week while finding long-term accommodation. The hotel is modern, bright and clean with comfortable, good sized rooms and nice bathrooms. There is free WiFi and bottled water each day and a kettle and tea/coffee. The aircon is effective and quiet. The only disappointment was the breakfast which had a limited choice and the evening meals... More

I work for a large humanitarian organization and we held a sizable conference here at very last-minute notice. The hotel administration was very accommodating and flexible, a pleasure to work with even in the midst of such a stressful planning process. The facilities were perfect, both for the overnight guests and for the conference attendees. The hotel catered to all... More

I am a Global Health Professor that lived in this hotel from October 2014 to January 2015 when working at the Ministry of Health as adviser during the Ebola epidemic. I came to love the hotel and regard it as my second home. The hotel has high international standard re service, hygiene and facilities. What especially stands out is the... More

I am a journalist and stayed here whilst covering the Ebola story. The hotel was spotless, the staff so helpful and the rooms spacious. There are all the modern amenities and given that Liberia is in the grip of an Ebola outbreak and struggling with infrastructure - this was an oasis in the midst of trauma. An added bonus -... More

We had 9 rooms for 2 weeks while we were making a TV program. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms are a good size and the service was excellent. If you are travelling to Monrovia then this is the best hotel to stay in.
