Beautifull resort with the best pool in the country. large and confortable rooms, minibar. the staff is always smiling. the service is slow so dont be in a hurry. Big contrast with the rest of the city a Palace in the desert. If you want to enjoy Bissau spend the night in this confortable and safe hotel.

The hotel was fine, certainly better than any others in Bissau. The room was clean and tidy and reasonably well equipped with TV (Only English language channel is CNN...), minibar/fridge and with wifi. The room are within blocks located around the complex. Fortunately, my room was within a short distance of the main reception and restaurant block. There is small... More

Pretty much a standard third world hotel. The place was clean, and secure. Air con worked and no mossies in February which was great. We were here on a business related trip so taken around. Not the sort of place you just stay and wander around the city. The roads are pretty much dirt throughout the city. Some tarmac on... More

Staying here during the recent elections will prove not to be the best time to stay here. The place was packed with international observers, media, and some VIPs. It's got a friendly staff, but the hotel was overextended during the time. And the internet worked about 5% of the time. There are not a lot of places to stay in... More

Bissau is very poor and rundown. I visited the Hotel Azalai in the dry season when the distances from the rooms to the main building did not pose a problem. I had a comfortable and peaceful suite which was more than adequate for my requirements. There is good security. The main includes reception, bar and the restaurant. The swimming pool... More

This is where we place most of our guests and stay sometimes too. Re done by the Azalai group, the quality of the accommodation is very good for Bissau standards. The vast expanse and open areas make the service look slow , but the staff are friendly. The Breakfast service is slow and could be over before you get there,... More

I recently stayed at the Azalai; previous reviews are largely accurate. The hotel is set on a former Army compound with small interconnected villas spread out over several thousand square meters in a garden setting. There is good security at the entry gate. The reception desk staff do not speak English. A cash deposit is required upon check-in. I stayed... More

There are not many hotels in Bissau - this is a converted army camp. The rooms are small and basic. There is free wifi which works quite well. The food choice is very limited and service is slow. Surprisingly few mosquitos. We arrived late at night after a long flight (free transfer from the airport) with a prior booking -... More

Bissau has very limited choices in hotels, and even more limited choices where people actually reply to e-mail... Online booking apparently did not go through, so I reserved directly via e-mail. Airport-pickup was no problem. The hotel is located 1-2 kms outside Bissau center, but you can easily walk there (or take cabs or public transport). Plenty of shops in... More

In Bissau, it´s a fair option, one of the best in town. Rooms are basic and small, electric wiring is weird as often you cannot switch off the lights without switching off the a/c. In an oversized hotel with few customers, dinner still takes a long time
