Beautifull resort with the best pool in the country. large and confortable rooms, minibar. the staff is always smiling. the service is slow so dont be in a hurry. Big contrast with the rest of the city a Palace in the desert. If you want to enjoy Bissau spend the night in this confortable and safe hotel.

The hotel was fine, certainly better than any others in Bissau. The room was clean and tidy and reasonably well equipped with TV (Only English language channel is CNN...), minibar/fridge and with wifi. The room are within blocks located around the complex. Pretty much a standard third world hotel. The place was clean, and secure. Air con worked and no mossies in February which was great. We were here on a business related trip so taken around. Staying here during the recent elections will prove not to be the best time to stay here. The place was packed with international observers, media, and some VIPs. Bissau is very poor and rundown. I visited the Hotel Azalai in the dry season when the distances from the rooms to the main building did not pose a problem. This is where we place most of our guests and stay sometimes too. Re done by the Azalai group, the quality of the accommodation is very good for Bissau standards. Bissau has very limited choices in hotels, and even more limited choices where people actually reply to e-mail... Online booking apparently did not go through, so I reserved directly via e-mail. In Bissau, it´s a fair option, one of the best in town. Rooms are basic and small, electric wiring is weird as often you cannot switch off the lights without switching off the a/c. In an oversized hotel with few customers, dinner still takes a long time
