Stayed here with my dad and we love this hotel. Its cheap, pretty well-maintained (considering what you pay for it) and the staff is friendly and very helpfull. When I wanted some food that was not on the menu, the lady of the restaurant went out and bought it for me. Now, that's good service. It definitely can be noisy,... More

There were light issues, which was to be expected, which resulted in me having to have a shower in the dark. However, they tried to resolve this issue by attempting to use their generator. The key word was ATTEMPT. This generator was exceptionally loud, and failed to work. The walls are extremely thin and so people holding loud conversations outside... More

The hotel does not have good supply of water but whenever you requested for water they bring to you and the hotel is a distance to the city center and it takes long to get cab to wherever you are going. The food is okay and the staff are wonderful

As a previous reviewer noted, be careful as there are two Ampax Hotels in Accra. The one in Asylum Down (reviewed here) can be found at: http://www.ampaxhotelaccra.com/location.php, while the Pokhuase location has a separate website here: http://ampaxhotelgh.com/index.html For the value - GHc40 for a single with ceiling fan - Amapax Hotel is a great value budget accommodation. Compared to the... More

I stayed 2 nights and was very happy with the service and room, but I did have the unique experience of being kept awake until 4 .a.m. by an all night church service next to my room! This may have been a one-off, but it was terrible...absolutely deafening. The restaurant is poor and often closed, so you'll need to eat... More

I stayed here for 5 nights. At 70 Cedi (about 40 bucks US) count your lucky blessings that you're staying here because I'm almost sure that you won't find anything this decent for less than 100 Cedi. The rooms range from 40-70 Cedi, with 70 yielding you a large room with fridge, little desk and en suite bath. I found... More

At 70 cedi for a large room with your own bathroom and shower, the Ampax must be one of the best places to stay in Central Accra if you're on a budget. There were also smaller rooms available at 60 cedi. Our room was large, as was the bed. There was airconditioning, but it was stuck on 24° and the... More
