They used to be good but they are horrible now. If you are staying by yourself and someone visits you for more than 5 minutes they will charge you for the second person and that’s an extra 800 birr.. ridiculous. Not worth staying there

This is the worst hotel for anything. Whether to stay or have your or your loved ones wedding there. I have never seen such a traditional management system. We had a wedding there and without exaggerating the power went off more than 10 times. Their power system is not automatic and doesn’t even have a full capacity for the bands and other utilities. Even worse, you would think because of this inconvenience they would give us some time to leave the hotel with he bride, NOOO the staff goes and turns off the lights manually to kick us out saying that it’s time. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! what century are they in???? Nobody is willing to assist. The front desk officers are clueless. The managers are not there during weddings. No decision maker at the time. The bride and groom were in the dark for like 30min until the guests fought for their rights and had them turn it on for the bride and groom to leave the ball room with lights. We called the owners, they couldn’t care less. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, BAD SERVICE, OWNERS DONT CARE!!!

This is by far one of the worst places I have stayed in addis. Rooms are super dirty and cleaning team don’t come every day to clean the rooms. When they clean they do horrible job. Staff is not properly trained. Front desk staff is so disrespectful. You need to have patience to deal with them. They can insult you in front of other customers. None of the devices at the guest services work. Staff looking for extra money to do their day to day job. I am not sure who or how this hotel is managed. Government should have standards and should shutdown this hotel. HORRIBLE!!

Rooms are spacious and beddings are clean. However there's a very bad odor in the room (no ideal to relax in) and the flooring is old giving a dirty look. The breakfast is extremely poor, nothing fresh and it seems to be left overs. Eventhough it is a buffet, you can't request for a second cup of coffee. The staff very unfriendly especially the chief receptionist. I arrived with a reservation from booking.com and the chief receptionist asked me to leave. I had to insist on speaking with the manager who insisted i upgrade my room at a $100 higher than booked. On check out i had a bill of 210 and gave 250 expecting a 40 change. i was told by the chief receptionist that the hotel has no change so i had to go look for change. Eventhough she had change in her drawers which i could see. I still don't understand if this was racism or just poor client service. No amenities beyond basics of shampoo and conditioner, no minibar, no coffee station, no room slippers etc

A nice hotel. Clean rooms, good location and quaint. Could be better though with improvement in survice, meals and stocking the bathrooms with fresh supplies every morning. The lobby is always full with non residents, making hard to enjoy s quiet evening. Otherwise it's a good hotel.

I had 7 weeks of fantastic stay in this Hotel. The staff were very friendly, kind & extremely helpful. It offers buffet breakfast & a la carte lunch & dinner. Food is ok but portions are quite large. The macchiato is really the best in town. One thing which bothered me was the smell of the bathroom. It is the same in all the bathrooms. Some rooms smell worst. I hope they can fix it soon. Otherwise the rooms are clean & towels are fresh. It was home away from home. I will definitely stay in this hotel when ever I am in Addis Ababa.

Few tourists venture to St Ives but it is well worth a day to wander the historic precinct centred around the historic bridge over the River Ouse. Delightful riverside pubs and cafes and an (8 pound) boat trip up the Ouse gives an hour of historic and nature commentary.

Our International organisation booked this hotel for a three day training of senior officials from the health sector. As well as the conference room we also booked accommodation for those who traveled for the training. The service is acceptable, the food has room for improvement, the Internet in the conference room is bad but there was no connection in the guest rooms. The participants reported and evaluated the venue and their accommodation. They were happy with their rooms but very dissatisfied with the Internet and the local TV channel was not available in the rooms so they had to watch it in the lobby or the restaurant. Our assumption was that gym access was part of being a guest in the hotel, but found out this was not the case. Apparently if you get a discounted room you can not use the gym which I found very strange. Given its location, history and size, this hotel has potential if only the management and the owners look into it

I very much like the rooms in Desalegn, spacious and clean. The restaurant food is overpriced, beside salt it is underflavoured, and the staff is not friendly; it is also mostly empty during the day. The gym is very nice and usually many people, including personal trainers giving class, use its facilities during the day. Internet is available, but somewhat absent or difficult to find. Short powercuts occured several times when I stayed there. The floors used for weddings (3 and 4 I believe) are spacious and I would not consider staying in a room below the seventh floor on a large wedding party on a Saturday night ... Something I really liked, but can imagine is not everybody's cup of tea, is that inside the building crickets start chirping at nightfall and it gave me the feeling of being outside of Addis Ababa in the countryside, which is nice (sorry Addis).
