The minute one enters its spacious lobby one is overwhelmed by the fine decor, mostly with marble and inspired by Ethiopian designs. The service, as is all over Ethiopia, is polite and efficient. The quality of food, considering being in Africa food is good; rooms are large and clean. The large swimming pool is an added bonus. A stay there... More

This is a beautiful property. We looked forward to our morning breakfast each day (the food was delicious). This might not be on the same 5 star standards as hotels in Europe or America, but we also stayed at another hotel in Addis and it was by far the best. The room was well appointed and clean. It is expensive,... More

Many years ago the Hilton was by far the best hotel in Addis, and the higher price was well justified by the international standard not available anywhere else in the country. The Sheraton (reportedly fiinanced by a billionaire from the Gulf) has changed all of that, with an ostentatious level of luxury which strikes me as poor taste in a... More

Ridiculous how much you pay for internet!!! Not even the business center is free for guests, no WIFI in the rooms! Insanely expensive restaurants for the quality provided. Last day the driver took off to the airport with my bag inside the car and me still making the payment...the receptionist saying, dont worry they'll wait for you........and i was watching... More

Best place to stay in Addis. Even SPG Gold status will get upgrade and benefits which was greatly appreciated including free internet (one of the more costly add-ons in Ethiopia). Meals in all facitilities were very good but I was generally impressed with level of service and cleanliness, especially as I began my stay in country at the Hilton and... More

This hotel in Addis Ababa separates itself from all others in its grandeur and service. A bit pricey but altogether competitive with others in the city, the Sheraton is frequented by travelers and local businessmen and politicos. If you are a SPG Platinum level guest, your stay (as mine) will be rewarded by a nice upgrade to a suite. The... More

We were traveling with our two daughters (13 & 11). We knew the poverty here would be striking and more severe than anywhere we had visited in the world. My husband and I are both Starwood members, so it just made sense to be in a place that provided some respite from the day. This is a very nice hotel... More

Absolutely beautiful building and grounds! Stunning pool, great choice of restaurants - Indian, Italian and a great fast food pool bar. Service is perfectly 5 star. Room is great but slightly dated and in need of a little maintenance, however the in bathroom service is top quality. The perfect choice for a family vacation spot or business traveler... just walk... More

As SPG Platinum member, I was upgraded to a great suite. One of the best hotels in East Africa. The grounds and pool area were exceptional. Hotel lounge had great free buffet breakfast and late afternoon snacks. The hotel staff were friendly and efficient. I felt very safe and secure at the hotel. I expected a free van ride to... More
