I lived in Ethiopia for a few years before coming back for a month-long visit, during which I stayed at Abbaba's Villa. It's the best guest house you can find in Addis, not least because of Eyerusalem, the gracious and lovely owner. I felt so completely nurtured by her and her staff. We often had lunch or dinner together, and... More

A group of us had lunch here and the food was organic, fresh and delicious. It was beautifully served and we enjoyed the ambiance of the hotel and would love to go back and stay for a week. The owner and her staff were kind and helpful. The art and decor are modern and unique yet it has an ease... More

My husband and I recently stayed at Abbaba's Villa during a 5 day trip to Ethiopia. We were there to visit our Compassion Sponsor child, but also spent time exploring Addis and chatting to the staff and other guests at Abbaba's Villa. The owner and her staff are extremely lovely and very helpful. Each morning we ate a delicious breakfast... More

Abbaba's Villa is a perfect first introduction to Ethiopia. The place is beautiful and Eyo, the owner, is so helpful with everything and anything one may need. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. I couldn't ask for a better place as a female traveler getting my feet wet in Ethiopia. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone.

I stayed here for 4 nights in total at the beginning and end of my trip. I'm sure there is nowhere quite like this in Addis: beautiful, atmospheric old villa full of Ethiopian artefacts and a lovely terrace and garden. It reminded me of being in a Parisian apartment belonging to an art collector. I ate there every evening and... More

Very nice guesthouse in the outskirts of Addis Ababa. It definitely feels quite different from staying in the city. Birds chirping in the morning, many trees and other plants, sweet dogs, and a horse. Jerusalem, the owner, is very helpful, as is the staff. My room was quite nice, though I did run out of hot water in the shower.... More

Our family of 3 stayed at Abbaba's Villa for 10 days and couldn't have been happier. There is so much more here than you would find at any hotel. Eyo is warm and engaging and we felt so loved and cared for. The rooms are lovely and our bed was so comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and ample. You can... More

This was the first hotel on our trip to Ethiopia and it was a lovely calm introduction to the country. Owing to The Great Ethiopian Run roads in Addis were closed as we arrived so we had a long wait for the airport pickup but the owner (Jerusalem) made a couple of trips to try to find us so there's... Abbaba's Villa is an older home with wonderful atmosphere and traditional Ethiopian furniture etc. Lovely interior. The beds are extremely comfortable. The bathrooms are large and clean. The dinners are healthy although a bit bland. The breakfasts were fine but not hearty. They often ran out of things like milk for coffee or cereal. It is very quiet part of... More

Addis Abeba is a noisy and chaotic town because of its traffic. If you're looking for a small and quiet place Abbaba's Villa is perfect. But it's more: It is as if you would come into a family - a family with a very interesting past. Eyerusalem, the owner of the guesthouse, will tell you what her ancestors did in... More
