I made the HUGE mistake of relying on Ethiopian Airlines to take care of a 12 hour overnight layover in Addis Ababa. They put me in this flea pit of a hotel. Reception area very small. Lifts very old and scary. Room very basic with the barest requirement. TV reception terrible. Not worth even the transit stay, which was booked by Ethiopian Airlines and which I paid for. Thankfully on return journey was put up in Ararat Hotel was splendid. Ethiopia is a very friendly and helpful place to be unless you are at this hotel, service was slow, staff disinterested in doing their work or helping us customers. I switched to the Bole Rock hotel, I was quite pleased with that hotel and the staff there are very hospitable. more
