Be warned!!! The management of the hotel are incompetent. Make sure if you are having a late check out you understand the charges, that they won't tell you about. A colleague and I stayed for two nights and had late flight out (as most are). We asked the day before the reception what was the latest we could check out... More

Probably Asmara's best option for those looking for a reliable Place to stay during work visits. The restaurants seem to be a popular place for work dinners, and popular among the local elite. Unfortunately, it's a bit far from Asmara centre, so unless you have a car you'll have to take one of the very expensive taxis. The pools are... More

Without doubt this is the best hotel in Asmara, unfortunately, it does not have a great deal of competition. It is close to the airport and convenient and looks just like another architectural monstrosity built out of cheap materials, with poor furnishing. Notwithstanding, the rooms are comfortable enough and there is a pool and gym for the more active minded.... More

Location was is not bad. Nor from the airport in decent area of Asmara. You can easily walk to town centre from the area if you are not busy for exercise. Services are average and there are lack of enthusiasm and passion among the staff. Internet is very slow and most of the time unavailable. Better to go to Nyala... More

I have been there for 5 days. Rooms are clean and spacious. Internet is very slow in Eritrea, forget it. There is there an italian resaturant not bad but takes one hour to bring your food. Reception service are bad. They forgot to pick me from the airport and they charged me for a coffee that doesn't exist.

I spent four nights in the Asmara Palace hotel. Internet nearly never worked, I wasn't even able to send a single email through yahoo. Management says it's a "temporary provider problem" which is not true as guests complain @TA for years and internet works well in other hotels - with same provider. Staff is uninspired, phone messages at reception are... More

Asmara Palace is the most fancy hotel in Asmara. The rooms are comfortable. However there are things left to be desired: During our stay the A/C was not working. The Wifi is free of charge, but useless. The nominal speed is 32/16Kbps. Practically, Internet is not accessible. The only communication I managed to have is Skype chat from time to... More

This is most probably the best option in Asmara with comfortable rooms. It was initially an intercontinental hotel that is now property of the government. Although it is the best option not all went well during my 11 nights stay: - wifi was free but in fact it never worked; - For 6 out of the 11 nights there was... More

A hi-quality hotel, I'd guess the best in the country. Rooms are spacious, well-appointed & comfortable. Water is hot (not always a given in Eritrea from past experience). All staff are attentive & professional. There are in & outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts & a fitness suite. The two restaurants are good. Breakfast buffet is satisfactorily good. Service on the... More

This hotel is very close to the airport, so if you get to Asmara on a late flight or fly out early this is a good place to stop. A buffet breakfast is typically included in the room price. The food includes, omelettes, pastries, fruits, coffee and juice. Wait staff are quite nice and super friendly. Rooms are decent and... More
