Nice and helpful staff, historic c style, lots of atmosphere, however, rather run-down rooms and no breakfast included. The hotel is close to main street, Harnet Avenue, and surroundings are wonderful. Outside of the hotel the staff serve bar items in a nice setting.

Emba Soira and Hamasien are two separate hotels. Emba Soira (former Imperial Hotel) was buil in 60' and up the 90' was the best hotel in Asmara. very big rooms, all with inside bathroom, hot water, balcony, Tv and telephone. we stayed in the embasoira building for 3 nights and paid 1100 in local currency. hotel has a prime location near Downtown and in the diplomatic area. breakfast was included and was acceptable. the hotel is somewhat worn just like the country itself but Clean enough and very safe. once in a while they ran out of supplies like beer... PRO. Spacious well lit room with TV, good bed, clean bathroom, nice views. Above-average dinners in dining room. Average bar. Good cold beer. Nice reception. we arrive Asmara and direct drive to embasoira hotel (it known also by IMPERIAL hotel) mid. of sep. 2012 and we choose it by this site ,, every things is good but the tricks of reception guys , they give you price but didn`t mention it`s in which currency (local or US Dollar) ,, also there`s no price list appears...
