The Kempinski is a typical 5 star type hotel in Africa. The Kempinski is comfortable with all the amenities, but be prepared to pay for it. The Sheraton is a little less upscale and more affordable and is a good alternative if you are budget minded. I wouldn't recommend any other hotels in Djibouti for Westerners.

Was in Djibouti for business, and stayed at the Kempinski, which is a land mark around here, is extraordinarily clean. Food is good and fresh in line with a 5 star. Beautiful hotel with all the amenities. Awesome pool, lavish rooms, hospitable staff. However, the italian restaurant seems to have trouble messing up the orders quite often.
