I stay at the Hotel for one night, and was a bit disappointed! Everything at the hotel is very overpriced for what you get and the staff is amazingly slow and lazy. The food was abysmal; the customer service lacking; and they don't even have an airport shuttle or car service. The pool area is a great get away; enjoy the... more

Having lived in Djibouti for a year, we treated ourselves to a night in the famous Djibouti Palace. The rooms were lovely but the prices for this hotel were extortionate, food and drinks prices were prohibitively expensive. Grand Barra's staff were lovely and the atmosphere would have been great except for the enforcement of musical taste from the General Manager... more

I've now stayed at this hotel on two different trips and will not stay again. The hotel look is what you'd expect for a 5 star hotel, but the service is poor, the food even poorer for the price. I had to request an ironing board three times, sent jeans to be washed and 24hrs later was told i'd have... more

Extremely elegant hotel, wonderful amenities. If you are looking for good service though... not the place to go. I've had better customer service at a Super 8 motel. It's WAY overpriced for what you get too. Problem is, there is ZERO competition in the area, Kempinski has a monopoly in the area and there are no other choices for nice... more

...if this wasn't the only good hotel in town then I'd recommend staying somewhere else. I have been using this hotel for two years now and it continues to decline. The rooms aren't cleaned properly, you can find the previous occupants hair in your bathroom, stuff in the room is broken when you check-in, towels aren't replaced, they won't let... more

Only 3 Hours flight from Dubai, fantastic hotel, the food is just unique, you are treated like a king, unique view for the red sea..etc, i beleive its the best choice for a quick and short break from Dubai specially and the flight (Fly Dubai) connection is making it just simple. Can't wait to be back, Fady more

This is a beautiful, pleasant hotel in pretty harsh place. It's the only hotel in Djibouti city in its class. The bedrooms were beautiful, the pool was relaxing, and the service was okay (they could have used twice as many people on duty in reception). I was personally surprised at the cost of everthing in the hotel - restaurants/bar/room service... more
