I just stayed one night, so maybe I didn't get the full experience, but I honestly don't understand all the bad reviews. Yes, it's not dernier cri. But it has a nice old Africa atmosphere. The rooms are big, my bed wasn't so bad. Bathroom fixtures a bit cheap, but everything worked fine. Wifi worked for me but all I... More

I've ever stayed in!! Reception is modern and quite welcoming, but it is when you get to the bedroom is goes rapidly downhill!! I thought being a Novotel is would be of a high standard My room was very basic, paint coming off wall, Aircon working but not blowing cold air this meant for a sweaty, uncomfortable night sleep, also... Okay, this is Chad, but is this really a Novotel? When you leave the misleadingly impressive reception area through a side-door that takes you out of the main building, and drag your suitcase up the clanging metal steps to your room, it looks like you have gone through a wormhole in time and checked into a 1960s motel. Everything in... More

This hotel is not shabby, not tired but exhausted. Even in a place like N'djamena surely it must be possible to maintain a hotel property a bit better, especially with a rack rate of almost $300! My room was passably clean but acceptable on no other count. The airconditioner was very noisy, the bed linen threadbare and there was even... More

I travel extensively in Africa, all over the continent and I stayed in this hotel for about two weeks. I can say without the slightest fear to be proven wrong that this is one of the worst hotel experiences one can dream of. Everything is wrong here: the rooms are too large and impersonal, the fittings are old and falling... More

The best analogy for this hotel to Westerners is that it is similar to a very run down Motel 6. The best thing about this hotel is its location. Given the instability of Chad, you are about a kilometer from the airport and can cross the adjacent river to the hotel to Cameroon on the other side. I went through... More

I stayed several days on Novotel for work and even though the hotel inside is quite dark, old and not very taken care of, the staff is welcoming and the pool is amazing. For the lack of options in N'Djamena I think it's quite acceptable. The food makes it all worth it. The meals on the pool bar are good,... More

Novotel has been through three (3) managers since I first used this hotel. And no matter how many times you voice your complaint on this site or directly to the hotel manager.. NOTHING CHANGES. Internet service is up and down on a regular basis, Breakfast is the same. Personal hygiene of the staff is substandard. For example, order a beer... More

I have visited Ndjamena for work 4 times over the past 4years. I must say that improvement in this city is coming but at a snail-pace much like this local Novotel chain. Still the same old beddings which should be replaced, hopefully soon. To be fair, the bed linens are kept clean and replaced regularly, but disenfectant could come handy... More
