We arrived here in the middle of the night from the airport and felt very welcome. The Hotel is a good deal with Air Con and free WiFi. The location is good to explore Praia: Walking Distance from the Platô and the Beaches to the south.

I had a brief stay between flights and it was an eye opener. It was obvious that the taxi driver wasn't happy with such a short journey. He said the fare was 10 euro and I gave him a 20 to which he said that was right pointing at the 2 of us saying 2 x 10. Having sorted that... More

We stayed here for a whole week at the end of a month in Cape Verde travelling. We cannot recommend Hotel Perola enough. It's well located near beaches, The Plateau and other key areas in Praia. The rooms are ample, clean and well serviced. A welcome retreat from a busy day exploring the city and surroundings. But what makes the... More

We decided to stay at Perola a few nights before our morning departure back to the States. We had a list of hotels in a guide book for Cape Verde. Before deciding we called the hotel up to ask about the amenities and price. The gentleman on the phone gave us a reasonable price, and so we booked with them.... More

I thought this was a perfectly nice hotel, with helpful staff and good rooms, at a fair price. the proprietress was particularly helpful. she answered a number of questions and provided detailed descriptions of how to get around the island, and everything she mentioned was accurate. overall, I think Cape Verdeans are just exceptionally nice people, from a warm culture,... The hotel is just a poor location, the personel is just there less helpful but ok, breakfast is poor with many flies and the quality of the breakfast place is just not ok. Rooms are simple done, tha sanitary in room 110 was not clean (especially the shower was not cleande well ... back ...). Backside was under construction so... More

The Perola hotel is located near to the center of Praia and close to the diplomatic area. For a short stay of 1-3 nights it's fine but in general it looks like the best times are some years ago. Close behind it looks like a new hotel building is in construction and in 1-2 years the Perola should be "up... More

I found this hotel quite charming, and it was perfect for my purposes. Our group of 9 from the U.S. travelled to Cape Verde in May 2013, 4 islands during the first week including Brava, the homeland island of my family, and arrived in Praia on Day 6, a Sunday, The rest of the group left for Boston on the... The hotel is on the sea side, maybe 500m from the old town (there are public buses that plow the route often). Noise is not really a problem, and staff is friendly and helpful. There is an excellent restaurant right next door, and basic food can be found in a gas station nearby. Functional rooms, some of which are truly... More

The hotel scene in Praia is quite limited, especially in the 3 star range. Perola is probably among best of the lot, but rather due this lack of competition than own merits. The rooms are OK, though some pieces of furniture may be a bit old. Depending on the room, it can get a bit noisy (I spent three nights... More
